Requiring police protection after receiving death threats against her, popular rock star Rebecca is awakened from a drunken sleep and summoned to the auditorium where she is already two hours late for her rehearsal. However, responding to a call from security at her hotel, Nick and Schanke discover that a man was found stabbed to death in Rebecca's hotel room. Tracking down Rebecca's manager at the concert hall, Nick and Schanke inform Marty Benson of the killing and he hurries Rebecca into her dressing room where she is confronted with the news of the murder. Although Rebecca admits that the knife used in the slaying is a prop from her act, Nick doubts that Rebecca could have administered the precise wounds found on the victim. watch

Surprised when Rebecca later confesses to the murder, Nick is haunted by photos of an unidentified woman dancing at a nightclub given to him by one of her fans and returns to the hotel room to find the wig and sunglasses Rebecca was wearing when they were taken. Realizing they provide an alibi for the singer, Nick uses the pictures to vindicate her in the killing and Rebecca returns to her concert tour. Told of another threat against Rebecca's life, Nick heads to her concert to find Schanke and rescue the endangered singer. But, when a deranged fan takes aim at the stage, Nick is unable to stop him before the band is cut down in a hail of gunfire. However, after discovering Rebecca's body was actually that of another singer in costume, Nick finds the rock star had been tied up and locked in a closet to prevent her from taking the stage. Finally, while Nick listens as her management team plans to capitalize on her highly publicized death, Rebecca slips into obscurity, freed from the prison of her own celebrity. watch
