December 12, 2006: She's All Grown Up

Welcome to the majors. Hellooo, Hank. Who just drops a line about a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Florence and then says he'll take you there during your first date? I'd never want to leave the majors, either. And Andy doesn't want to leave the city. Meredith is dragging him to the suburbs — which I have nothing against — but I feel bad for PJ's losing constant visits from her brother. "Remember me as I am. Young and perky," he says without cracking a smile. Love it.Out goes one pal, and in comes another. Brendan's talking in circles to try to cover his sorry butt again, and PJ's jaw dropped so low, she probably tasted the eggshells her secretive roomie was tip-toeing on. "I think it's the worst thing that happened in the history of the land." I'm still laughing, and she said that a while ago. Brando, Brando, Brando. What are you thinking? OK, granted, I don't know Wendy (Lindsey Stoddart) and all that she has to offer. But in previous episodes, it was pretty obvious she... read more

Two new guest stars to join My Boys

I'm happy to tell you about two of our guest stars in this Tuesday's episodes. In episode 105, you will meet Brendan's on-again, off-again girlfriend, Wendy, played by Lindsey Stoddart. Lindsey has been a longtime improv performer at the Improv Olympic West. She is a recurring character on My Boys, so you don't want to miss her introduction — clearly! In episode 106, Johnny Galecki makes the first of a couple of appearances on the show. He plays Trouty, the epitome of a bad hang. You may know him from Roseanne as Darlene's boyfriend. Johnny is an amazing actor. He is currently performing in a Broadway play called "The Little Dog Laughed." When we started shooting this episode, he had just finished a movie the night before. He didn't wrap until four in the morning and had been doing a scene in which he was crying and puking. (Apparently it was a drama — let's hope). Just a few hours later, he arrived on our set as a completely different character in a comedy. Well, I thou... read more

My Name Is Earl Earl, I forgive...

My Name Is EarlEarl, I forgive you for making the husband sing the Smokey and the Bandit song for the next 48 hours. But only because we got an extra dose of Randy cuteness and a dog named Poochie tonight. Though I'm not exactly with him on Amnesty Day at the adult-video store or the cheerleaders' bikini dog wash (do the dogs wear the bikinis?), I was awfully disappointed for Randy every time Earl chose golf-obsessed Scott (Johnny Galecki from Roseanne) over going to the fair. And really, wasn't Scott's downfall caused by his own hubris as much as by Earl's quest for free beer? Hubris must've been a different episode on Carson Daly. Through Randy's eyes, Scott was pretty well off just having that car with a TV in it and, as Randy put it, "Now you have beer read more
