Despite the hot night, there was a chill vibe in the air at the NBC upfront party on the Beverly Hilton rooftop. Celebs like Heroes Greg Grunberg and ER's John Stamos kept cool with electronic mini-fans the network handed out to guests. As they noshed on roast beef, pasta and loads of pastries, partygoers could unwind in cabanas, mingle with the masses, or, in the case of NBCs biggest stars, dish to TV Guide about the upcoming season of their hit show. My Name Is Earls Nadine Velasquez says, The last I heard, I might explore being a lesbian and compete with Earl for girls. Its not confirmed yet because the network has to approve it, but I love it. Still, despite the reporters trying to get some scoop, it was a party. ERs Mekhi Phifer, who doesnt return to work until August, didnt know much about the upcoming season. After a few minutes, Phifer looked at the crowd and said, Cmon, guys, I just want to drink and relax....

John Stamos by Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage.com
June 25 and 26 were definitely not gdays for John Stamos. The ER star exhibited bizarre behavior during an Australian publicity tour late last month. Stamos spoke to TV Guide to set the record straight on what happened. On June 25 he appeared to slur his way through an interview with an Australian newspaper. The next day, while appearing on the popular Aussie talk show Mornings with KerriAnne, he rambled through the interview and made a series of obscene remarks and gestures.Stamos arrived in Australia on June 21, at the end of a whirlwind trip that included stops in New York and New Orleans, a vacation in Greece with his former Full House costar Bob Saget, a publicity stop in Japan, and a layover in Cairo before finally landing Down Under. By the time I got to Australia my body was so out of whack, Stamos tells TV Guide. He went to a Sydney strip club his first night there. I couldn't sleep, so I went by, he says. I stopped to sign autographs and...

John Stamos by Greg Gayne/NBC Photo
John Stamos blames jet lag for his bad behavior Down Under. The ER star created a stir on an Australian publicity tour for the medical drama after his outlandish behavior on a popular television chat show. During an appearance on Mornings With Kerri-Anne, Stamos made obscene remarks and gestures, insulted the hosts outfit, and likened himself to Elvis and the late Princess Diana. John has been traveling extensively for the past few weeks in Greece, Egypt and Tokyo and had a difficult time adjusting to the time difference in Australia, which in turn led to many sleepless nights since his arrival, the actors rep Lewis Kay said in a statement.Although he was spotted in high spirits at the Sydney strip club Pure Platinum the night of his arrival on June 21, Stamos was later described as bleary-eyed and shabbily dressed during a June 25 interview with TV writer Stephen Downie. All press commitments following the morning-show debacle were canceled and the star was ...

I say what I am about to say as a huge fan of television and in particular ER I am ready for a break I am actually relieved that this television season is coming to an end because I really dont think I can take any more I am officially emotionally spent Tonight alone I endured the highs of Jim asking Pam out for a real date on The Office and the lows of Burke breaking Christinas impenetrable heart on Greys Anatomy By the time 10 pm rolled around I was primed and ready Or so I thought The shock of seeing Ray roll back in that wheelchair was naturally mitigated by the relentless promos that had shown him rolling back in a wheelchair But what I was not prepared for was a bitter angry double amputee In a million years it never occurred to me that he had sustained that sort of life-altering injury When I tell you that I literally gasped in disbelief well my friends that is the understatement of the year Overall I thought this was a fantastic capper to

Man there was a lot of action to keep up with tonight challenging cases of couples in turmoil pseudo-stalkers and missing doctors And lets not forget Luka in a robe As if we could But first things first let me say for the record that I have renewed hope for next season and it arrived tonight in the guise of Stanley Tucci I am intrigued by Dr Kevin Moretti and what he promises to bring to the table as ER chief Yes I am a little prejudiced because I think Stanley Tucci is an amazing actor Ive loved him in more movies that I can count most recently in The Devil Wears Prada But as he emerges from the long gorgeous shadow cast by Goran Visnjic I can still see this formidable actor bringing a grace maturity and gravity reminiscent of Anthony Edwards Remember longtime fans that Dr Mark Greene was not beloved because of his dashing good looks or romantic plotlines but rather because he was utterly believable as a beleaguered jaded doctor wh

For my money tonights episode provided some of the most heartfelt emotion weve seen this season emotion that was no doubt underscored by the devastating events of the past week Rarely have the themes of loss and family been more resonant as we all witnessed how in an instant lives can be irrevocably altered by tragic circumstancesRobert Prosky touchingly portrayed the elderly Alzheimers-stricken man facing the unexpected death of his caregiver son played by his real-life son Andy Prosky His reaction in the moments following his sons death was gut-wrenching and the situation became even more heartbreaking as the man had to be reminded of his loss moments later Robert Prosky is one of those actors who has made a career out of small but memorable roles and his turn tonight was no exception The actor has definitely aged in recent years it was hard to believe that this was the same guy who played boss and mentor to Holly Hunters ma

Stacy Keach, ER
Stacy Keach has had a long and idiosyncratic career. How many actors have starred in both a John Huston masterpiece (Fat City) and Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke? Now Keach is adding to his credits with an arc on ER, a show known for gaining its guest sta

Bob Saget, Farce of the Penguins
Come on, admit it, we've all done it. While watching the hoity-toity March of the Penguins (a French documentary that was actually Americanized with Morgan Freeman as narrator), you have to wonder what's actually going on in the flightless fellas' heads. What must they be thinking making this endless, beyond-frigid trek, all in the name of mating, making and then guarding an egg, and then, after much waiting, getting some lousy fish for their effort? God bless Bob Saget, he of the seemingly bipolar "family friendly/potty-mouthed" on-stage persona, for addressing such questions with the R-rated, made-for-DVD Farce of the Penguins, featuring the voices of himself, Lewis Black,
