Mad Men Boss: Don Isn't Necessarily Going to Cheat on Megan

Jon Hamm

"Are you alone?"

That was the rather loaded question facing Mad Men's Don Draper (Jon Hamm) as the AMC drama ended its fifth season. Would Don, who had finally given into his wife Megan's desire to be an actress by getting her a job in a shoe commercial, go back to his philandering ways?

Mad Men Finale: Chasing phantoms and being alone

"When you see the face of Don at the end of the last episode, you say, "Oh, that's where that guy's been," creator Matthew Weiner tells TVGude.com. "I recognize him."

But Weiner says that doesn't mean Don is just going to throw his marriage out the window... read more

Was Mad Men's Tragedy Not As Shocking As It Could Have Been?

Jared Harris

For someone who adamantly hates spoilers, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner has pretty much been telegraphing Sunday's episode all season long.

(And speaking of spoilers, this is where you should tune out if you haven't seen "Commissions and Fees.")

Mad Men: What's the Cost of Doing Business?

Mad Men

On Sunday's Mad Men, two of the show's strongest female characters decided what they were worth — in two very different ways.

Summer preview: Get scoop on the summer's must-see new shows

Let's start with the sadder (and perhaps less believable) of the two story lines. Joan (Christina Hendricks) has always been the "dynamite redhead" with whom many an adman and client would kill to spend a night. As such, Herb, the head of the dealers association, who perhaps senses Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce's desperation to win the Jaguar account, demands Joan's sexual services as a way to persuade him to vote SCDP's way.... read more

Matt's TV Week in Review

Vincent Kartheiser

This week in TV was as notable for the legends who left us as for what actually happened on TV in the last full week before the May sweeps begin (next Thursday). So let's start there, acknowledging two figures who loomed large in my formative years of being weaned on TV.

It's impossible to imagine TV without Dick Clark, the genial host and canny impresario...

Mad Men as Horror Movie: A Few (Not So) Good Men

Jon Hamm, Sam Page

When did Mad Men become a horror movie?

Set against the backdrop of panic caused by Richard Speck's 1966 massacre of eight nursing students in Chicago, Sunday's episode, "Mystery Date," was filled with chills (a strangulation, things that go bump in the night at the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce offices, grandma Pauline's butcher knife) and at least one thrill (Joan finally shipping her husband off to Vietnam for good).

Mad Men creator on Season 5 premiere: Megan has power over Don

Let's start with the thrill first... read more
