There are rumors going around ...

Michael Rosenbaum and Kristin Kreuk, Smallville

Question: There are rumors going around that the rest of Smallville's season will be heavily focused on the possible romantic relationship between Lex and Lana. Is there any truth to this?

Answer: I'm afraid so, Matt. "Clark's relationship with Lana is going south because he's back to keeping secrets," reveals exec producer Al Gough in an interview I cribbed from my colleague, Damian J. Holbrook. "They're not sleeping together because he's got his powers back and he doesn't know what'll happen. [And] as Clark continues to lie, we'll see Lana and Lex growing closer." (For more on the fallout from Smallville's 100th episode — including an interview with John Schneider on the death of Jonathan Kent — go out and buy the new issue of TV Guide magazine when it goes on sale tomorrow. Smallville Even though the hype...

SmallvilleEven though the hype factor spiked to something like 25 on a scale of 1 to 10 regarding Smallville's 100th episode (you know, the one where someone close to Clark will die!), I really tried to be good and stay spoiler-free. But, of course, that didn't stop my inquiring mind from speculating. And I felt in my gut that the doomed one was going to be either Lana or Jonathan. And when Lana died, I just knew it was too easy. That first half of the show seemed like the recent Lexmas dream: It was all very fleeting and just not real. So when Clark begged his bioDad to let Lana live, I knew Mr. Kent was in trouble. After I finally accepted the inevitable — that Jonathan was gonna die — I became a tad bit weepy. Not so much for the character, but for the actor. John Schneider read more

Smallville First of all, let me...

SmallvilleFirst of all, let me say that I had no idea what to expect from Smallville tonight because all WB has been pushing for the last two months is this whole who's-gonna-die business. I literally thought it was going to happen this week but, alas, it didn't. We won't find out until later this month. Not a problem, I can roll with the punches. This episode features a Central Kansas University student who's pretty much the ultimate Lex Luthor groupie. The poli-psycho chick goes to crazy lengths to try to bring down Jonathan Kent and crown her man state senator. She shaves her head, y'all. Unbelievable. And I gotta tell you, I got so weirded out when the newly balded one dropped her robe for Lex and tried to go all Monica Lewinsky. Thankfully Lexy showed he has s read more

Did John Schneider and Tom ...

We are family: Dukes stars Schneider, Bach and Wopat

Question: Did John Schneider and Tom Wopat play Bo and Luke Duke the whole time The Dukes of Hazzard was on? I seem to remember other actors playing the roles, too. Thank you.

Answer: Not quite, Beth, though your memory of substitute stars is halfway there.

Schneider (Smallville) and Wopat played the Charger-drivin' Duke boys from the time CBS launched the show in January 1979 until the spring of 1982, when they bailed out after battling with the suits over merchandising money the actors said they were owed. Now before you go thinking they were just a couple of demanding, whiney stars, be aware there was serious money involved.

"[W]e picked up the newspaper and read that [Dukes producer] Warner Communications' annual financial report stated that the company had earned $190 million in 1981 from its read more
