An Australia-born, Canada-bred character actor, Ferguson is a true chameleon who changes his appearance and accent to suit diverse roles, mainly on the small screen. He made his first big impression as a comically dim-witted villain on the cult series
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, he appeared in small roles in mainstream Hollywood movies (
X-Men: The Last Stand) while enjoying a prolific TV career, guest starring on a plethora of prime-time series (
Battlestar Galactica,
The X Files,
Night Stalker). His biggest role came in 2006, when he landed a plum part as the neglected husband of a businesswoman on the family drama
Brothers & Sisters. He followed that up with more guest-starring work and a multi-episode stint on Syfy's
Caprica before turning his attention to movies.
