Matt LeBlanc's Showtime comedy Episodes has been renewed for a nine-episode third season, the cable network announced Thursday.
Episodes stars LeBlanc as a fictionalized version of himself, a role which earned him his first Golden Globe and Emmy nods since Friends. Like a particularly stubborn strain of kudzu, Weeds is one of those shows that seemed as if it would never go away. I bailed nearly two seasons ago, when it had drifted so far away from the subversive suburban satire of its original premise that I couldn't tell — or care — where it was heading. A murdered woman is found in an alleyway dumpster after a riot at an immigration rally. Detectives Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Ed Green's (Jesse L. Martin) investigation leads to an auxiliary cop's over zealous attempt to stop the riot. The political nature of the case elevates tension in the DA's office as DA Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) assigns ADA Josh Lethem (guest star John Pankow) to prosecute the case.
