After grim early scenes depicting a Civil War family feud, narration covers famous horses, then the grown up Goodwin brothers (Walter Brennan, Charles Waldron) are introduced, along with Sally (Loretta Young) and briefly Richard Greene, a scion of the other family, in Kentucky, 1938.
