The bitch is back! Joan Collins plays an even more diva-fied version of herself in three episodes of TV Land's Happily Divorced, beginning November 28.
"She's a strong, glamorous woman with a very good sense of humor who is quite independent, quite rich and likes to get her own way," Collins, 79, says of herself.
Dont laugh, but in the summer of 1981, I lived for three things: the birth of MTV, the Royal wedding and the identity of the bitch in the big hat who stormed Blakes murder trial at the end of Dynastys first season. As you can probably tell, I wasnt a normal kid. Didnt even climb a tree until I had to outrun the cops in high school. Dont ask, dont tell, OK?Anyway, for the kiddies among us, MTV used to show things called music videos and had veejays with gigantic hair. Now, not so much. Chuck and Di? Please, if I never hear Candle in the Wind again, Elton John would still owe me. And the hat ho? Lets just thank the TV gods that some people have stood the test of time. Even if this one did make me wait until November for the new season to begin.Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan, I love you.And not in the being her for Halloween way. More like, I love you for being the first character to show me how t...
Gordon Thomson, Dynasty
Are you as psyched as I am for Dynasty Reunion: Catfights & Caviar, which airs May 2 on CBS? Just like the Dallas and Knots Landing reunions, this one gathers cast members from Aaron Spelling's nighttime soap to reminisce about their sudsy adventures in the '80s. In search of scoopage, TVGuide.com rang up Gordon Thomson, who played Dynasty devil Adam Carrington, in addition to his daytime gigs on Ryan's Hope, Santa Barbara and Sunset Beach. This cheeky, candid Canadian did not disappoint!
TVGuide.com: How's your TV mother, Joan Collins?
Gordon Thomson: I've known Joan on and off for 24 years and I've never seen her happier. She's in great form. [Collins' fifth husband] Percy Gibson is the best thing that ever happened to her. It's a great match. They're frisky and lovely together. They're mutually nuts about each other.
TVGuide.com: I love h
Question: Do you have any scoop on the Dynasty reunion? I heard John James will not be participating. Do you know if that is true?
Answer: It's true. Like Heather Locklear and Diahann Carroll, he "graciously declined," per USA Today. It's a bummer, too. Had he done it, all the main Carrington players would have been present. I hear producer Henry Winkler called him multiple times, to no avail. Not sure what his excuse is, but it wouldn't surprise me if the almighty buck was involved. Either that or he's fat and wrinkly and wants to be remembered as the smoldering piece of '80s man-meat he was.
