A remake of the 1942 classic This Gun for Hire and the only film directed by James Cagney, this gritty drama stars Robert Ivers as Kyle, a killer who abducts singer Glory Hamilton (Georgann Johnson) while seeking revenge on his double-crossing boss, gangster Bahrwell (Jacques Aubuchon). Glory assists Kyle after Bahrwell and his thug (Murvyn Vye) torture her, while her policeman boyfriend (William Bishop) rushes to find her before she's killed.

Produced in quasi-documentary style, this vintage crime thriller stars Broderick Crawford as FBI Agent John Ripley. When fellow G-man Zack Stewart is murdered, Ripley takes over the trio of cases Stewart had been working on. Also seeking to identify his colleague's killer, Ripley begins to suspect that an extortion case involving widow Kate Martell (Ruth Roman) is the key to Stewart's death -- and possibly the other cases.
