A teaser trailer for the Lifetime TV movie True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet which is now being released on DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment on March 3rd. Pop music superstar Joanna JoJo Levesque (of RV and AQUAMARINE) stars as out-of-control blonde teen Hollywood actress Morgan Carter, who goes from red carpet to rehab before being sent to hide out in an Indiana suburb with her Aunt Trudy (Valerie Bertinelli). But as a now-brunette nobody named Claudia Miller , Morgan must learn to deal with going from celebrity royalty to being the unpopular new girl in school. Even if she can survive sobriety and senior year, what happens when the paparazzi and the cute boy next door discover her secret? Buffy the Vampire Slayer still slays!

So it’s week two of my favoritest month of the year and the scary shows on DVD are keeping my player—and Pepito the Wonder Chihuahua—working overtime. And I know this column was supposed to be all about boorific B&W fare, but the vampires struck back over the weekend and there’s no denying these pains in the neck!Obviously, if we’re talking about bloodsuckers, there’s none better than Angel. BUT…that one we’re saving for the end of the month and a big old chat with a certain Whedonverse whiz kid we all know and love. (Hmmm, wonder who that could be?)Anyhoo, with David Boreanaz’s Angelus on hold, I say we give the love to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, since the show that gave us Angel continues to rock well beyond its own cancellation grave. Whoa — time for the casting switcheroo...

Whoa — time for the casting switcheroo again. New Clara. Does Joanna Going really look so much older than Rachael Leigh Cook that we needed a new face rather than some makeup? I'll say it once more: The baby powder in the hair and lines around the eyes may not fool anyone, but it's a miniseries staple we've come to accept. I mean, they stuck with Irene Bedard as Margaret Light Shines, and that works fine for me. Moving on....What can you say about the tragedy of the ghost dance? As if the Indians hadn't suffered and seen their hopes crushed enough, here comes a new hope destined to be crushed — and one that'll cost lives. "You just leave it alone, and likely as not the whole craze'll just die down on its own," Robert says of it, adding that locking up Sitting Bull will create the real problem that the dance isn't.
