As the midpoint of Celebrity Rehab 2 draws near, the patients at Pasadena Recovery Center are going to start facing tough emotional issues while they explore what is behind their addictive behavior. With this in mind, Dr. Drew leads a discussion about mothers, a subject that can be particularly touchy to some addicts. Steven Adler’s abandonment issues, for example, are a direct result of a dysfunctional relationship with his mother. Amber Smith shares that she was forced to support her drug-addicted mother at a very young age. Nikki McKibbin can also relate, as her mother’s death was a result of many years of alcohol and drug abuse.

When Adrianne and Chris wake up in separate beds for the first time since they got engaged, it's trouble in paradise. Over lunch, Chyna Doll (from Surreal Life Season 4) gives her friend Adrianne a serious wakeup call. Chyna Doll tells her, "I wouldn't want somebody to marry me if they really didn't want to...I think you're making a mistake." When the minister calls to invite Chris and Adrianne to a couple's counseling retreat, the timing couldn't be better because they need help. Dr. Pam is the "therapist extraordinaire" and it's time for some tough love. While Chris has been convinced all along that Adrianne has all the problems, he's in for a surprise this time. Dr. Pam thinks he's the one who needs work!
