Jimmy Heath, Willie Nelson, and Wynton Marsalis improvise together at the Twelth Annual Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize, airing on PBS stations nationwide on Wednesday, November 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
The Heath Brothers perform at Dizzy s Club Coca-Cola for one week starting July 18. Saxophonist Jimmy Heath, who s played with John Coltrane and Miles Davis, among others, and his brother, drummer Albert 'Tootie' Heath, have performed together since 1975. Pianist Jeb Patton and bassist David Wong join the brothers for bebop, hard bop, and straight-ahead jazz.
