Los Angeles City Council President, Eric Garcetti vowed today to use any means necessary to find the Goldstar National Nutcracker Award, “The Nutty,” and the person responsible for its disappearance late last week.
On December 9th, a lone thief broke into the Pasadena-based Goldstar offices and stole “The Nutty.” Surveillance video, released earlier today, shows the perpetrator overtaking two highly-trained security professionals in his quest for the gold statue. Neither guard was reported injured in the incident.
In a stern video statement, Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti warns the subject, “Don’t make this ugly. Turn yourself in now.” He also cautioned, “Angelenos reject Grinch attitude, Grinch ways, and the spreading of Grinchness around.”
Meanwhile, from his vacation home in Whoville, Goldstar CEO Jim McCarthy assured the public that the Third-Annual Goldstar National Nutcracker Award will go on as scheduled with the winner being announced on December 22nd.
The Goldstar National Nutcracker Award annually honors the best loved Nutcracker production throughout the land as voted by Goldstar members. The statue stands two feet tall and weighs 3 pounds. www.goldstar.com/nutty

(Pasadena, CA) Goldstar, the Internet company that gets people out more often, announced today that its prized Goldstar National Nutcracker Award statue, “The Nutty,” has been stolen from the company’s headquarters in Pasadena, CA.
A lone thief is thought to have broken into the offices on December 9th, 2009, and overtaken two highly-trained security professionals who were unharmed in the incident.
Reached for comment at his vacation home in Whoville, Goldstar CEO Jim McCarthy said the perpetrator was “a mean one.” He went on to describe the thief as, “a heel - as cuddly as a cactus - as charming as an eel.”
Authorities have asked the public to help identify the suspect captured on Goldstar security surveillance video.
Authorities also ask that the public be on the lookout for “The Nutty” as well. The statue measures two feet tall. The Goldstar National Nutcracker Award annually honors the best loved Nutcracker production throughout the land as voted by Goldstar members.
In what can be described as a message intended solely for the thief, Mr. McCarthy continued, “The three words that best describe you are: Stink. Stank. Stunk."
