The Jimmy Show -- Jimmy O'Brien yearns to escape his working class roots and make it big in the world of stand-up comedy, if not for the nagging details of his small life.

The Jimmy Show tells the story of a failed New Jersey inventor, Jimmy O'Brien (Frank Whaley), who works at a grocery store to support his wife (Carla Gugino), daughter and wheelchair-bound grandmother. But Jimmy longs for a career as a standup comedian and decides to risk everything to realize his dream. As he hits the amateur-comedy circuit -- with disastrous results -- he turns to drink and labors to keep his family together.
