According to the New York Post, La Lohan has been keeping company once again with former beau Stavros Niarchos, and it's so serious that when the Simple Life dimbulb, another of his exes, hit on him at a recent party, he didn't just reject her, he left. The clueless Hilton, a source says, was later seen going up to people and "asking where Stavros had gone".... Here's a non-Desperate ...

Question: Here's a non-Desperate Housewives/Arrested Development/Scrubs/24/Lost/Alias/Grey's Anatomy-related question for ya: What do you think of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit? I know you've spoken of it in your column a few times in the past, but I thought I'd add my own commentary. Of the three L&Os on air right now, SVU is far and away the best of the bunch. True, the formula is unchanged since the show's inception: Solve crime, catch the perpetrator. But the cast, particularly Christopher Meloni as Det. Eliot Stabler and Mariska Hargitay as Det. Olivia Benson, have a dynamic chemistry. The stories, while often uncomfortable or just downright disturbing, galvanize the actors into churning out some fine performances. They also help to provide insight into the detectives' motivations, something the original Law & Order has mainly shied away from during its 16-year history. Whether it's Eliot's struggles with his emotions (a running plot since almost the very beginning) and his ... read more

Jordan Hits 100 with a Killer Finale

Jill Hennessy, Crossing Jordan

The fifth-season finale of NBC's Crossing Jordan — also the show's 100th episode (airing Sunday at 10 pm/ET) — marks the dual milestone with one whopper of an opening: The morning after celebrating Lily's pending marriage, Jill Hennessy's lady coroner wakes up with a gun in her hand and next to the dead body of her former beau, J.D. Pollack (Charles Mesure). With little recollection of what did or did not transpire, Jordan becomes the No. 1 suspect!

Perhaps the only person taken aback more by the situation than Jordan was her portrayer. "What's funny is there were a lot of rumors going around about this episode for over a month before I actually got a script," Hennessy tells TVGuide.com. O read more

Crossing Jordan will reach ...

Question: Crossing Jordan will reach its 100th episode this season. Any scoop on what happens?

Answer: I cornered Jill Hennessy at TV Guide's post-Golden Globes party (cosponsored with NBC and Focus Features) and, although she wasn't privy to 100th-episode prattle, she did tease an upcoming episode that's sure to have watercoolers bubbling. "There's a threesome kind of a scene with myself, Jerry O'Connell and Charles Mesure (J.D.), who plays Jordan's boyfriend now — although she's breaking up with him. But when you see [the scene], you'll understand after about five minutes what's really going on. It's a little deceptive." She also revealed that "Jordan actually tries to adopt a child, which is sort of strange for her character."

My family and I enjoy ...

Question: My family and I enjoy watching Crossing Jordan. In fact, we have all four seasons on tape and Jill Hennessy is the reason we watch. She is a fantastic actress who does a fantastic job portraying Jordan, faults and all. I can't quite figure out what you have against her and the show. It's a great series with a well-rounded cast, and the writers do a solid job of keeping things fresh while engaging in character development. So Matt, what gives with you and Crossing Jordan? Give the show and its actors the recognition they deserve! Answer: I've got nothing against Jill, and agree the role and the show fit her to a T (often a tight T, but still). I also admire Miguel Ferrer and enjoy, in limited doses, Jerry O'Connell. But anytime I tune in to the show, it just fails to grab me. It feels contrived and cartoonish, even by this genre's formulaic standards. There's no point in me trying to convince the show's longtime fans of my opinion, and I'm afraid the same is true vice versa. read more

Crossing Jordan Finally Back!

Since Jill Hennessy took nearly a year off to have son Marco, many viewers mistook Crossing Jordan for canceled. No original episodes of NBC's coroner drama have aired since last May! TV's sexiest medical examiner returns Sunday at 10 pm/ET, though. In fact, double runs of Jordan will air on Sunday and Friday nights through March. "It's great to be back," says Hennessy, who figures fans stop her an average of "eight times a day" to inquire where the show went. Of course, while the 36-year-old brunette attracts admirers wherever she goes, not everyone knows exactly who she is. "It was funny walking the streets of New York while I was pregnant," she says. "I'd get very interesting comments. I guess people didn't realize that Catherine Zeta-Jones had already had her baby. So they'd say, 'Cathe read more
