How Will the Fringe Team Deal with Etta's Death?

Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson and Georgina Haig

In a cruel new world, it only seems fitting that Peter and Olivia would reunite with their daughter only to have her tragically taken away from them too soon.

On last Friday's Fringe, the Observers mercilessly killed the youngest Bishop family member, sending out shock waves among the Fringe fandom. How could Etta (Georgina Haig), who we came to love during such a short period of time, be taken away so soon? This is just a taste of the danger Peter (Joshua Jackson), Olivia (Anna Torv), Walter (John Noble) and Astrid (Jasika Nicole) will continue to face in the Observer-occupied future.

Got any Grey's Anatomy scoop on Derek? — Jacob
NATALIE:
Now that he's unable to operate, Derek will turn to teaching the interns. "Derek has to try and find his peace with that," Kevin McKidd tells us. "He doesn't get to cut anymore, but he gets to be this amazing teacher. Owen helps him learn how to be a teacher again." Speaking of our favorite Seattle Grace docs, you saw this, right?

Fringe Gets Into the Spirit of 2036

Joshua Jackson

It's the final frontier for the Fringe Division, as the sci-fi drama heads to the future to wrap up its run. "It's a truck to the end," says exec producer J.H. Wyman of the show's 13-episode farewell fifth season, which will pick up in the Observer-overrun year 2036 we first saw in last spring's "Letters of Transit" episode. read more

Fringe's Final Season Is a 13-Episode Feature Film

Fringe

Prepare your red vines and strawberry milkshakes: The Fringe community will unite Friday when the Fox sci-fi series kicks off its fifth and final season.

In its swan song, Fringe will focus on the year 2036, 16 years after the Observers invaded Earth. As seen in last year's Episode 19, Peter (Joshua Jackson) and Olivia's (Anna Torv) daughter Etta (Georgina Haig) tracked down her family in order to release them from amber so they could hopefully save the world. And that will be their mission this year: Rid the world of Observers or perish. Yes, the stakes really are that high, and you'll discover why in Friday's premiere (9/8c, Fox).

6 things to know about Fringe's final season premiere

The only saving grace? Walter Bishop (John Noble), who may hold the key to taking down the Observers in his addled brain. First though, the gang will team up to track down Olivia, who was MIA in last season's flash-forward. While touching, the family reunion will bring up a lot of painful memories for Olivia, says executive producer J.H. Wyman. To find out why and what else is in store this year, read below: read more

Loved the Castle premiere, but what was Castle doing with a half-naked woman in the promos for the next episode? —
ADAM:
As creator Andrew W. Marlowe  already teased, that encounter is a consequence of Castle pretending to be single in order to keep his relationship with Beckett a secret from their co-workers. But that doesn't mean infidelity won't be an issue. An upcoming case will implicate Castle in the murder of an ex. "It makes everybody question: How well do we actually know this guy?" Marlowe says. But it gets worse: "Castle may have been having an affair with her at the same time he was dating Beckett," he teases. "That goes to the heart of all of Beckett's insecurities."

Will Booth and Brennan be fighting in the Bones premiere? — Mary
ADAM:
Although Booth takes a few verbal jabs in the premiere, you won't really begin to see his true emotions come out right away. "I think the initial reaction is relief and gratitude that [Brennan and Baby Christine] are fine," executive producer Stephen Nathan tells us. "The second episode is where [Booth] realizes he resents this person, that he's angry at her." But Nathan hints that Brennan's got some issues of her own. "Brennan has lived her entire life quite independently," Nathan says. "She's realizing for the first time that she's terribly interconnected with Booth... and this kind of shakes the foundation of who she feels she's been all these years. [She may] resent the fact that she gave herself over to another person."
