Footage has surfaced from a long-lost 1972 Holocaust film starring, co-written and directed by Jerry Lewis — and it's not pretty.

The Day the Clown Cried, in which Lewis plays a circus performer who's captured by Nazis after making fun of Hitler and later uses his routines to amuse children in the concentration camp where he's sent, was scheduled to be released at the Cannes Film Festival shortly after it was made. But audience reaction at test screenings caused the film to be shelved, NBC News reports.read more

Jerry Lewis Released from Hospital After Collapsing

Comedian Jerry Lewis is back at his hotel after being hospitalized Tuesday night, USA Today reports.

Lewis was rushed to the hospital after low blood sugar caused the 86-year-old to collapse at a gala in New York City. Lewis was attending the event to present Tom Cruise with a Friars Club Entertainment Award, as well as to be honored with the club's Applause Award.read more

Despite the absence of longtime host Jerry Lewis, the 2011 Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon raised $61.5 million, up approximately $2.6 million from last year, The Associated Press reports.

Despite a Las Vegas Review-Journal report to the contrary, Lewis' spokeswoman, Candi Cazau, tells Reuters that his status has not changed.
