Supernatural: Should Season 10 Be Its Last?

Don't get me wrong, I love Supernatural. But sometimes I think the show has pushed its luck as far as it can go.

Most series have a hard time sustaining a high level of quality for more than three seasons, but Supernatural (Tuesdays, 9/8c, The CW) is closing in on double digits now. I have no doubt Jeremy Carver will...read more

Why The Supernatural Spin-Off Needs a Female Lead

The Supernatural spin-off Tribes has me nervous.

The main attraction to the series has always been the relationship between Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). But the chemistry between Padalecki and Ackles will be impossible to replicate, so I applaud Tribes' decision to not even try. By making the spin-off an ensemble cast, featuring both human and monster leads, it sets itself apart from its predecessor. Yet when it comes to female characters, I worry it's not going to be different enough.

Supernatural: Will God Return to Help the Winchesters?

Let's not sugarcoat it: Things on Supernatural are a mess right now. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have split up, there are no more prophets coming to lend a hand, and Earth is caught in the middle of full-on wars for control over Heaven and Hell.

Maybe it's time for some divine help.

During his time masquerading as The Prophet, Chuck (né God) rewarded those who had the bravery to defy his plan (Team Free Will FTW!). But he wasn't above stepping in to save his favorite creations when the situation got too dire, either. Yet as the lines between Heaven, Hell and Earth continue to blur, God is nowhere to be seen and rarely even discussed. So what's the deal?

Supernatural Boss on Killing Kevin, A Dean-Crowley Alliance and More

Somebody get Dean (Jensen Ackles) a box of tissues, a bottle of whiskey and some serious ammo, because the eldest Winchester is hurting bad when Supernatural returns Tuesday.

But Dean doesn't have time to sit around and mope. He's got to get his brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) back and avenge the tragic death of Kevin (Oscric Chau). Supernatural showrunner Jeremy Carver chatted with TVGuide.com about exactly how Dean plans on pull it all off. Plus: He tells us what's next for Castiel (Misha Collins) now that he has his grace back, what Gadreel's real intentions are and more.

The 10 Best Supernatural Characters

Supernatural will always be the story of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), but over the years the series has introduced dozens of other characters who have found beloved homes in the fandom. And on Tuesday's episode (9/8c, The CW), Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) returns again when she calls on the Winchesters to help investigate four missing virgins. (Hey, at least it's a step up from dating Crowley!)

Supernatural's Ackles and Padalecki: Is Sam Still Ready to Die?

It's hard out there for a Sam fan.

Since getting possessed by Ezekiel, Sam (Jared Padalecki) has repeatedly been pushed out of the action on Supernatural this season to allow the angel to save the day (with the delightful exception of Sam's scenes with Crowley last week). And though with each use of his powers, Zeke — and thus, Sam — weakens a little more, Padalecki says Sam will get back in the fray soon.

"We do start to see that Zeke is healing Sam," Padalecki tells TVGuide.com. "We do see Sam start to not require so much help from Zeke and his brother. So we will gradually see more bits of Sam more often than Zeke in the upcoming episodes, which doesn't mean we won't see Zeke as well."

Supernatural Stars Preview Cas and Dean's Big Reunion

Castiel's first attempt at hunting on Supernatural was a cartoonish comedy of errors — and that was with his angelic superpowers! So how will it go now that Cas is human?

"Now you just have an awkward human being with Dean, whose very comfortable in these shoes and totally understands walking into a crime scene. But you get awkward boy over here doing it all wrong," Jensen Ackles tells TVGuide.com. "It makes for some good comedic moments."

Can you give us any more information about Bartholomew on Supernatural? —Gina
ADAM:
Let's just say that he might pose a few more problems for the Winchester boys than previous angel Naomi did. "Bartholomew set out to be a headhunter to kind of rule the roost, whereas Naomi was more in the business of trying to preserve heaven and ruling that landscape," Jensen Ackles tells us. "With that comes [new] rules of the game." And those new rules are likely to more deadly. "Bartholomew is malicious in a way that Naomi wasn't," Misha Collins says. "She would engage in torture, but there's something more sinister about Bartholomew. He seems to me to be less sympathetic."
