  • The Office's Angela Kinsey Becomes a Mom | Today's News: Our Take | 5/5/2008
Office star Angela Kinsey on Saturday gave birth to a baby girl, a first for the actress and husband Warren Lieberstein. Isabel Ruby arrived in good health, weighing in at 6 lbs., 14 oz. (and inadvertently put an end to the rumored Office pool for bets on which gender Kinsey's baby would be).Kinsey's mom, Bertie, and Office cast mate Jenna Fischer were reportedly at the hospital with her Saturday. Fellow Office cast mate and TVGuide.com celebrity blogger Kate Flannery said in an April post that... read more
  • Ausiello Hits the Red Carpet | Today's Top Videos | 1/28/2008
Hollywood was all abuzz last evening as actors near and far gathered for what has proven to be the biggest awards show of the year — the 2008 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Beloved TV Guide correspondent Michael Ausiello was right there on the red carpet for all the action, interviewing everyone and anyone worth mentioning. Personally, we were big fans of the Rainn Wilson interview where he breaks the news that costar Angela Kinsey is with child, but really, nothing beats his arts-and-crafts... read more
  • Michael Under Oath | The Office | 11/16/2007
Episode Recap: The Deposition (November 15, 2007)Was anyone else convinced that Michael and Jan were going to break up before the end of this episode? They’re hardly a stable couple even in the best of times, but here it was practically a competition to see who could do the most vicious thing to the other (or at the very least, to reveal who had acted worse in the past). Let’s see: Michael emailed a topless photo of Jan to everyone in the company, so in turn she stole his diary and... read more
  • Let's Talk The Office! Michael Takes the Witness Stand! | The Office | 11/16/2007
Sadly, this might be our last fix of The Office for quite a while: it seems that until the strike is settled no more new episodes are being filmed (though I'd love to be proven wrong on this). Still, tonight's episode looks like a worthy sendoff, with Jan suing Dunder-Mifflin and Michael caught in the crossfire when he's called upon as a witness. Will Michael be torn between his loyalty to his company and his loyalty to his ample-chested girlfriend? Post your thoughts and check back after the... read more
  • Can I Have the File for Mr. A. Knife? | The Office | 11/9/2007
Episode Recap: Survivor Man (November 8, 2007)Like any good sitcom I’m sure every episode of The Office is written as a collective effort by the entire staff (who are currently out picketing their own show, but let’s not dwell on the strike for now), even if Steve Carell is listed as the sole writer in the opening credits. Nevertheless, I want to congratulate everyone involved on this one: “Survivor Man” has got to be the funniest episode of this show in a long time. ... read more
  • Let's Talk The Office! Can Michael Survive in the Wilderness? | The Office | 11/9/2007
Ryan holds a corporate retreat out in mother nature, and Michael, angry at not receiving an invite, decides to go camping alone. Considering his survivalist skills, I'd say the odds are pretty good for a Michael Scott bear attack. And really, if that doesn't make you want to watch this episode, what would?Post your thoughts and join me after the show for my recap. read more
  • Jenna Fischer: The Office Was About to Shoot its "Funniest" Episode | WGA Post-Strike Watch: News About Returning Shows | 11/8/2007
This is the kind of thing that really makes the writers' strike sting. In a new message on her MySpace page, Jenna Fischer says The Office has only two episodes left to air, and that the next one they were about to shoot — but now won't — "was going to be the funniest of the year. I'm sure of it." Fischer says the plotline for the episode had been tossed around for two years, and that it involves "Pam and Jim being in Michael's home. But that's all I'll say."Fischer says she hopes to... read more

But he unceremoniously dumped her during the…B: Booze CruiseIt became the night that Jim made the ill-advised decision to tell Michael Scott (Steve Carell) about his feelings for Pam (Jenna Fischer). Executive producer Greg Daniels calls the episode "our Scranton version of Jim Cameron’s Titanic."C: Crystal Club ColaThe soft drink that you see Dunder-Mifflin... read more
  • Let’s Burn Utica to the Ground! | The Office | 11/2/2007
Episode Recap: Branch Wars (November 1, 2007)Jim has spent the past few weeks punch drunk happy over finally getting together with Pam. So it figures that karma is ready to pay him back by putting him through hell tonight. First he gets manipulated into taking the worst car ride I’ve ever seen on The Office (and considering how many times Michael Scott has gone on a long journey while annoying the bejeezus out of his passengers, that’s really saying something). And by the end of the... read more
  • Let's Talk The Office! Joss Whedon Returns! | The Office | 11/1/2007
We got a nice Halloween treat last night: Joss Whedon has a new television show in the works starring Eliza Dushku! (Read the full story here.) But you don't have to wait until The Dollhouse premieres to get your Whedon fix - he's directing (although sadly, not writing) tonight's installment of The Office, in which Karen returns to lure Stanley away to another branch of Dunder-Mifflin. Considering Whedon's past shows, could a Pam versus Karen fight be in the cards?Post your thoughts and check... read more
  • Let's Talk The Office! Will Angela give in to Andy's advances? | The Office | 10/25/2007
Tonight The Office returns to its regular, half-hour length with an episode about the Scranton crew being chosen to star in a Dunder-Mifflin commercial. Meanwhile, Dwight manages to become even weirder by getting addicted to Second Life (my apologies if anyone reading this actually plays Second Life). Post your comments and return back after the show for my recap. read more
  • Let's Talk The Office! Is the Schrute B & B a Five-Star Affair? | The Office | 10/19/2007
I guess Scranton's options for romantic getaways are pretty limited, because Jim and Pam are spending a lovely night together at.... the new bed and breakfast on Dwight's farm? Come for the bottomless glasses of ice-cold beet juice, but stay for the bear cage fights! Seriously, I'd book a room if this was a real place. In other news, Michael is reduced to declaring Chapter 11, and Ryan is still a tool. Post your thoughts on what an evening at Dwight's B & B is going to be like and check... read more
  • Let's Talk The Office! Will the Internet Drive Dwight Insane? | The Office | 10/11/2007
Apparently Michael goes to the corporate party in NYC while the rest of the gang is left with a much less impressive bash back in Scranton. One wonders: was Michael invited or is he crashing the festivities? Is Jan coming along as his date? And will someone - most likely Meredith, if she's fully recovered - get loaded and embarass themselves? Post your thoughts on who will kill the party buzz and check back after the episode for my recap. read more
  • Breaking Up is Hard to Do | The Office | 10/5/2007
Episode Recap: Dunder Mifflin InfinityMy favorite thing about this episode was the sly parallel that connects the three love stories (well, two of them are technically deeply dysfunctional break-up stories, but you get what I mean) and Michael’s obsession with sticking to his old methods rather than learning to change and embrace technology: in both cases, everyone in the office would rather go crawling back to whatever or whoever makes them feel comfortable, rather than move on after... read more
  • Let's Talk The Office! Are Dwight and Angela finished? | The Office | 10/5/2007
According to the promos Angela is still grieving over the loss of her beloved Sprinkles, which definitely doesn't bode well for the future of her relationship with Dwight. And how will Michael adjust to taking orders from his new boss, the intern he used to make fetch his coffee? And will Ryan ever stop dressing like he's the frontman for a Weezer cover band? (I promise to retire these jokes soon...) Post your thoughts and be sure to check back after the show for my brilliant, insightful*... read more
  • Joining Together in the Fight to Cure Rabies! | The Office | 9/28/2007
Episode Recap: "Fun Run" How’s that for starting the episode with a shock: Michael leaves his apartment for another day at work (one of the rare moments in the series where we’re allowed to venture beyond the office and see the characters’ personal lives), gets caught up in talking to the camera, and hits Meredith with his car. Always ready to go into damage control mode rather than act responsibly, Michael tells his coworkers that she was injured and that he took her to the... read more
  • Ask Matt | 9/10/2007
A few months back, while discussing the Emmys, you wrote about The Office's Dwight (Rainn Wilson) having been nominated over Jim (John Krasinski). While Dwight is required to be more over-the-top, you said, Jim was more deserving of a nod. Having just finished Season 2 on DVD (I admit I haven't yet seen Season 3), I have to disagree. If you remove Dwight's bizarre antics from the show, Jim wouldn't have a chance to bring out his quirky expressions and dry sense of humor. I think it's a similar... read more
  • Office Star Jenna Fischer, Filmmaker Hubby Split | Today's News: Our Take | 9/6/2007
Now reporting this makes me sad, because Jenna is a favorite around here. The Office cutie Jenna Fischer and her screenwriter/director husband James Gunn have announced the end of their six-year marriage. In a statement posted on their respective MySpace pages, they share, "We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends. The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other's lives, spirits and careers is real — we have been each other's cheerleader and friend... and continue to be so... read more
