How does Agrestic's dealing damsel in distress get out of this one? invited Jenji Kohan, the creator of Showtime's Weeds, to preview the new season, premiering Monday, Aug. 13, at 10 pm/ET. I actually just got the press kit for Weeds. That's some foldout of Mary-Louise Parker, nude!Jenji Kohan: Yeah! Her ass looks good in that. Wish they hadn't used the snake, but what can you do? Last time we spoke, you said Season 2 was about Nancy accepting her role as drug dealer. What's the theme for Season 3?Kohan: It's the education of a gangster. [Laughs] She has seen how rough-and-tumble it can get.Kohan: And she's got to learn the ropes. It's learning how to be great at her job. My big read more

Hope Springs Eternal: The Return of Trees

Now here’s a piece of good news. I share it because I’ve lost count of the questions I’ve fielded about it lately. ABC has just revealed that Men in Trees will be back with a new episode April 12, a little earlier than I expected. Which must mean that October Road’s tryout is only four weeks instead of six. (The cover letter that came with the four-episode October screener threatened there would be a fifth and sixth.) Of course, this means Trees will return on the same night that ER also is scheduled to return from a long hiatus with new episodes, so Men in Trees won’t enjoy the same break that the pitiful October Road got during its first weeks on the air. And Trees’ lead-in on that Thursday in April will be clip-show highlight reels from Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy (the latter hosted by the dearly departed Jeffrey Dean Morgan, aka Denny), which could further depress the lead-in ratings. (By comparison, October Road rode on the coattails of orig... read more

Exclusive: Grey's Welcomes Back Denny... Again!

Grey's Anatomy is keeping Jeffrey Dean Morgan almost as busy in death as it did in life. The actor — who braved shark-infested waters in February when he gave Meredith a purgatorial pep talk — is returning on April 12 to headline the show's latest recap special. During a telephone chat last week, Morgan explained how this won't be your standard clip show, disagreed that Grey's jumped the shark when Meredith went to heaven, set the record straight about the status of his rumored-to-be-dead war-correspondents drama with Shonda Rhimes, and offered a few choice words about his big Supernatural comeback (the operative word being "few").Ausiello: How will this clip show be different?Jeffrey Dean Morgan: They're going to use me as an on-camera host. They've never done anything like that before. Usually it's all voice-over. That'll be interesting. I haven't seen a script yet, so I'm kind of on pins and needles myself. Ausiello: Rumor has it the Grey's spin-off killed your war-corr... read more
