Played football and basketball in high school and played hoops in college, captaining Ferris State in his senior season (1998-99).
Never formally studied acting, but quickly broke into film with small roles in Tigerland and Maid in Manhattan before starring in The Outlands and So How Do You Feel About Your Watch.
Replaced Ben Browder in the role of football coach Red Raymond on the CW series Hellcats.
