Tonights episode is about causes. Helping cancer research, and being environmentally friendly, but they really dont weave either of these into the storyline. They both come across to me as just props. We were sort of throw head first into this fund-raising event for cancer research, but the stage really was not set. Why would the Tragers want to attend this event? They didn't seem to want to go to events like this last year. Only Josh and Nicole know about Andys cancer, so how did they convince Lori, Kyle and Declan to participate? We knew that Josh wanted to enter and win the car, but what caused Kyle and Jessi to enter? It was a bit convenient that both Kyle and Jessi ended up being drawn for a chance to win the car. I guess it was a way to set the stage so that we could focus on Kyles interaction with Jessi, in order to figure her out. The other main plotlines tonight were Joshs interaction with Andy and how they are growing closer; Loris not t...

Finally a Foss-free episode. This episode was so much more interesting than last week's. It actually held my attention for most of the time.Someone breaks into Amandas house. Kyle knows that because he was working on bettering his hearing skills. Amandas mother really does not like Kyle. I know this started last season, but I still do not have a clear understanding as to what the root cause of that dislike is.Steven is bored and trying out Joshs games. He tries multi-player gaming and uses Joshs headset to see what keeps Josh so absorbed all of the time. He hears some interesting conversations. He is convinced that Josh is smoking pot and it turns out that his parents are his suppliers. I like to see them explain this to Josh. It does not go well, but Josh ends up getting grounded. However, Steven feels really bad about it. He tries to explain his reasoning to Josh.Meanwhile, Jessi arrives for her first session with Nicole, and it disrupts Kyle he stops...

Before the second season of Kyle XY premieres next Monday, June 11, here's a refresher of where we left off. I spent last weekend watching Season 1 on DVD (available at Amazon), and the special extended-cut version of the DVD has some differences, but I think it works better. At the start of the last episode, Kyle's in the hospital recovering from his seizure on the merry-go-round, which befell him while straining to hear Declan and Charlies conversation. While he is in the hospital, we find out that Kyle supposedly disappeared five years earlier on his way to school. He was living in Hong Kong at that time. We also find out that the supposed reason that Kyle has no belly button is because as a child he had several operations to reposition his organs, and as a result, he was left without a belly button.Does anyone else find this hard to believe? First, if they really did that type of surgery, there would be visible scars on his skin that a trained eye, like a doctor, would be a...
