Beauty and the Beast's Catherine was given an ultimatum, but it seems she won't stay away from Vincent very long.
At the end of last week's episode, Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) told Cat (Kristin Kreuk) that if their relationship was going to work, she'd have to cut Vincent (Jay Ryan) from her life — even as a friend. But they have an even bigger problem on their hands with Sam (Tom Everett Scott), who's on the hunt to find other people from Gabe's orphanage and inject them with the J.T.'s beast serum.

Beauty and the Beast
J.T. has been kidnapped, but he's not alone.
On Monday's Beauty and the Beast (9/8c, The CW), Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and Vincent (Jay Ryan) are forced to work together, yet again, to save an abducted J.T. (Austin Basis). But J.T. isn't locked up alone. In a nearby cell is a stranger, played by recurring guest star Tom Everett Scott, who's clearly been in isolation for a very long time.

Is Beauty and the Beast's Catherine really ready to move on from Vincent? She's at least going to try.
When we last saw Cat (Kristin Kreuk), she had finally realized that she hadn't let go of Vincent (Jay Ryan) because he had saved her life all those years ago. With their relationship behind her, and Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) waiting in the wings, Cat's about to embark on a new partnership — especially when her anger for Vincent is further propelled by his going public.
Exclusive Beauty and the Beast First Look: Catherine teams up with Elisabeth Rohm
"They've been under the shadow of having to hide him up until this point, and now there he is, free and out, and that's what she always hoped to have," showrunner Brad Kern tells TVGuide.com. Adds executive producer Jennifer Levin, "And that can fuel her towards Gabe, that upset and anger."
Beauty and the Beast
While Beauty and the Beast's Vincent is finally going public, Catherine is headed undercover with a new ally.
On Monday's episode "Ancestors," Cat (Kristin Kreuk) dives headfirst into an undercover case with FBI Agent Dana Landon played by guest star Elisabeth Rohm (Law & Order). Although Cat recently declared being ready to move on from Vincent (Jay Ryan), the two — of course — end up coming face-to-face during the case.

How do you recover from shooting the love of your life? Beauty and the Beast's Catherine Chandler will soon have to find out.
On Monday's midseason finale, Cat (KristinKreuk) had to make a tough choice: watch a beastly Vincent (Jay Ryan) kill her father (Ted Whittal) or shoot Vincent to save him. Cat ultimately chose the latter.
In the closing moments of the episode, Cat — who still ultimately put her dad in jail —was being consoled by Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) while a shirtless Vincent was seen cleaning his wound as Tori (Amber Skye Noyes) walked in on him. So, where does this leave the couple? Is there hope for reconciliation, or will Cat and Vincent both seek love in other places? Executive producer Brad Kern shared what's to come with a select group of reporters below.

Will Catherine take down her own father in order to save Vincent?
In the final moments of the fall's penultimate episode, Vincent (Jay Ryan) went to save Tori (Amber Skye Noyes) who was set up by Cat's father, Detective Reynolds (Ted Whittal), after he became aware she was a beast. With Tori tied up and a bomb by her side, viewers were left wondering what happened when the explosion went off. (Spoiler alert! We have it on good authority both survived.)
Beauty and the Beast's Amber Skye Noyes: Tori and Vincent have a bond that Cat can't share
On Monday's midseason finale (9/8c, CW), Catherine will have to decide if she'll help Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) get Reynolds behind bars for all he's done. She'll also come to terms with Vincent's beastly side overpowering his humanity and whether or not she's willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of their love. That is, if she can even forgive him for making out with Tori.

Unaware that her father is a part of a species she never knew existed, Tori is stunned and then devastated when he dies. As if that wasn't enough to deal with, in the closing moments of the episode, Tori sees her eyes glow a beastly shade of green. How long before she becomes a full beast? And will she and Vincent bond over their shared connection? We checked in with Noyes to find out.
