In October 2000 the Faith & Science Lecture Forum hosted an engagement to discuss the question, "Who is the TRUE Jesus?" Ms. Peggy Wehmeyer, former religion correspondent for ABC News, moderated the debate. Representing the Muslim perspective was Mr. Shabir Ally, a speaker of rising prominence. He was formally trained with Dr. Jamal Badawi and is currently an author, speaker, and the founder and president of the Islamic Information and Da'wah Center in Toronto, Canada. Representing the Christian perspectives was Mr. Jay Smith, a Ph.D. candidate in Islamic studies at Brunel University in London, England. Mr. Smith is widely acknowledged as one of the leading authorities on Islam and the historicity of the Qur'an. He has participated in many debates that have included distinguished opponents such as Benazir Bhuto, the former prime minister of Pakistan. watch
