Jay Bilas Fast Facts:
  • Recruited by coach Mike Krzyzewski and Duke as part of a stellar 1982 class that revitalized the program and starred on Coach K's first Final Four team, in 1986. Tallied 1062 points and 692 rebounds as a four-year starter.
  • Drafted by the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, but wound up playing professionally in Europe (Italy, Spain) for three years.  
  • Appeared in an episode of TV's The White Shadow (as a teen) and in the 1990 film I Come in Peace, as well as several national commercials, including an ad for Minolta cameras.
  • Served as an assistant coach to Krzyzewski while attending Duke Law School from 1989 to 1992, ending each season in the NCAA championship game, with wins in 1991 and 1992.
  • Recipient of the Distinguished Young Alumni Award from Duke Law School.
  • Developed into one of most respected voices on college basketball as an analyst with ESPN and CBS, regularly appearing on College GameDay and ESPN's coverage of the NBA Draft.
