The NFL season opens Thursday with the New York Giants beginning their quest to defend their unlikely Super Bowl title. Jason Taylor is going to Washington. The Dancing With the Stars runner-up was traded Sunday to the Redskins after an extended standoff with the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins, specifically executive vice president Bill Parcells, were unhappy with Taylor's decision to choose the paso doble and foxtrot over pre-season preparations.
With the trade, the Dolphins picked up a second-round draft pick in 2009 and a sixth-round pick in 2010 from the Redskins.

There is a note-worthy connection between the two hit reality shows: Kit Pistol, another recent Runway contestant, is the stylist for Dancing cohost Samantha Harris. That means for the last ten weeks, Pistol has been scouring Los Angeles to find roughly one hundred gowns for Harris to try on, twenty of which made the final cut. Well kids, this is it! It's been just over two months since this crazy season started and now it's all coming to an end. Who would be taking home the crown and who would go home in utter defeat? Finale Night is finally here! Well the first hour of a three hour send-off is anyway. Can you believe another season is almost over? It's over! It's over! It's all over! My hunger strike has finally come to an end. Oh yeah, and Marissa is outta here! See ya! Peace out! Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya! You'd think she murdered my first born the way I'm going on about this, but I think it's been quite clear that I'm insanely overdramatic. As if the Season 6 semi-finals weren't reason enough to be in a party mood, Season 3 champ Emmitt Smith entered the ballroom just before show time and did the funky chicken all the way across the floor to his ringside seat. "I'm not sure if he was here to support me or Cheryl [Burke, his pro partner]," joked Jason Taylor, who reached out to Smith before signing on to do Dancing with the Stars." "Emmitt gave me a lot of advice in the beginning and everything that he said came true," says Taylor. "He said, 'You're going to have fun with it. It's a lot of work. It's a lot of practice. It's a lot of media stuff. It's challenging, but you're going to be in great shape. Tonight's dances were chosen at random — ooooohhh! Dun Dun Dunnnnn! I expect lots of complaining and guffawing will go down when the dances are drawn. I'm doing my best to make this seem like a dramatic twist to the show, but I don't really see it like that. Shouldn't it be that way anyway? It might make the show seem a little less planned. Since we're down to the final four, we're sure to see decent dances tonight so I'm going to try to cut the critique and just pick out the highlights. We all know Marissa doesn't deserve to win or even get past this round, so who needs to hear me say it again? Due to Mario's premature ousting last week, I'm on a hunger strike until order is restored and Marissa is sent packing.
