Question: Wow. What a disaster. Way too much Will & Grace and The West Wing (and I am a big fan of The West Wing). No Lost? No Battlestar Galactica? But to me the big kicker is the lack of Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee. Did no one watch My Name Is Earl? I'm happy for Jaime Pressly, but Lee and Suplee are the reasons that show should have been nominated for best comedy.

The Television Critics Assoc. (of which I'm a member) just came out with its 2006 TCA Award nominations and, save for the Battlestar Galactica snub, it's a pretty fraktastic lineup. I'm especially jazzed that after years of checking off Lauren Graham's name, our girl finally made the cut. Ditto Scrubs. With any luck, both will prevail on July 23 when the trophies are handed out. Answer: Giovanni Ribisi is coming back as Earl's ex-con buddy, Ralph. According to exec producer Greg Garcia, "Earl and Ralph had stolen a guy's hot-dog cart and have to kind of go undercover in the corporate world to pay back the people who made them do it."

First on SNL last Saturday, Jason Lee participated in a skit about a meth-influenced TV show, then on Bones this week, the anthropologist and her crew uncovered a mummy that had been killed by a meth overdose. Then this week's Numbers has a pedophile meth dealer and an explosion in a meth lab. Apparently it is the TV drug of choice right now. Sounds like some scary stuff, especially the way it can get in the air and you could be inadvertently exposed to it.
