For the second time, My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee has a new name: daddy.According to People, Lee and girlfriend Ceren Alkac welcomed a baby girl Aug. 10. Lee's rep confirmed the birth, but no other details have been released. Cheers to Jason Lee for playing along with Celebrity Family Feud. At first, I was shocked when I heard My Name Is Earl's headliner was joining his costars on the NBC game show. After all, he starred in one of last year's biggest movies (okay, so it was Alvin and the Chipmunks, but still...). And Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer all chose not to accompany their Office mates to the Feud. Then I watched the episode and saw that Lee and Co. were playing in character, and I realized such a tacky stunt fit perfectly with Earl's trash-tastic aesthetic. The best moment: Earl's answer to what a woman wouldn't want to hear about the guy she almost married: "That he's her cousin." Congratulations to My Name Is Earl's Jason Lee, who is expecting a baby with girlfriend Ceren Alkac.Alkac is due in the fall, says People, and the baby will be the first for the couple. Lee, 38, is already dad to a 4-year-old son with his ex-partner, actress Beth Riesgraf.Lee was honored this past weekend at the San Francisco International Film Festival's Midnight Awards. Kudos to Earl for taking a little break from the coma-dream storyline whether or not youre a fan of that you have to admit it felt good to watch Jason Lee perform some more traditional protagonist duties Not only that but this week was filled with quite a few standout lines and performances It was an episode comprised of nearly non-stop flashback and it worked wonderfully Randy decided to run another karma errand for Earl by attempting to make amends for an incident in which their parents vacation was ruined Of course he had to finally fill them in on the little details Earls in a coma and oh yeah he was in prison for a while there too At Earls bedside straight-laced Carl Hickey relives the vacation incident which turns out to be an epic tale involving a duffel bag full of marijuana Beau Bridges and Nancy Lenehan always turn in great performances as the elder Hickeys but they shined especially bright this time around The scene of them as youths at W

Question: I just read your comments about a potential Jim Parsons Emmy nomination. You mentioned a number of contenders, but I'm disappointed you didn't include Jason Lee. OK, I admit, I have a huge crush on him, but that's partly because he's so terrific as Earl! (Yes, it's also partly cause he's so hot without the Earl moustache.) He brings so much to that part: great physical comedy, warmth, and an amazing ability to be the old, bad Earl and the new, good Earl and make us believe the same guy could be both. Also, speaking of Emmys, Jack McBrayer should be nominated — and win! — for his terrific portrayal of Kenneth on 30 Rock. If you're really reading this, Matt, thanks!

You can't blame Jason Lee and Matthew Gray Gubler for being a little bleary Thursday night at the DVD release of Alvin and the Chipmunks. (Jason plays Dave, while Matthew voices bespectacled Chipmunk Simon.) Lee had just come from the set of My Name Is Earl, and was a bit fuzzy when asked what's in store when the show returns April 3. One tease he did spill was that guest star Alyssa Milano is back as his very pregnant wife in what looks like a '60s-inspired fantasy sequence. "Yeah, it's all sort of an imagined side of the story. You'll understand why when the season resumes," said Lee. Also dropping by the episode is, of course, Paris Hilton. "It'll probably be the most exciting thing on television since... forever," Lee smiled. "So look forward to it!"
