An early
American Idol Season 7 heartthrob, Castro was born in Dallas and currently lives in Rockwall, Texas. The blue-eyed, dreadlocked singer grew up playing drums and also plays the guitar (which he did on his performances of "Daydream" and "I Just Want to Be Your Everything"). Before auditioning for
Idol, Castro was majoring in Construction Science at Texas A&M University.
