Justin Chambers and Elizabeth Reaser by Ron Tom/ABC
How great did it feel to have Ugly Betty and Greys Anatomy back on with new episodes this week? Such a scrumptious double feature of feel-good TV. Im especially keen on Betty these days, this colorful and vibrantly funny new geek on the block. As others have said, its the perfect appetizer to the main course of Greys, with its usually irresistible blend of suds, scrubs and heartache.Best move both shows made this week: Ditching subplots that were going nowhere. On Betty, that meant saying goodbye to Ignacios case worker (who really wasnt), the crazily smitten Constance (Octavia Spencer). On Greys, that meant saying goodbye to the arrogant Dr. Marlow, played by a miscast Roger Rees, a fine actor who came off more like a creepy Dracula than an intimidating Dr. McBrilliant. Of all the misbegotten love matches weve been forced to consider on this show, asking us to believe Cristina ever had a thing for this ghoul was almost as ewww-inspiri...

Jared Padalecki, Supernatural
Supernatural fans best know Jared Padalecki as Sam, the normally sweet Winchester brother who works with Dean (Jensen Ackles) to fight off otherworldly beings on the CW's underrated but well-written and -acted drama that has the unfortunate task of airing Thursdays at 9 pm/ET, opposite two of television's hottest series. Hunting down Jared for an interview proved easier said than done — the show shoots in Vancouver, and since the primary cast is only two people, they tend to be a little busy! But TVGuide.com finally caught up with the adorable former Gilmore Girls hottie and asked him some of our own burning questions. Plus: The scoop on Sam's upcoming good lovin'!

Question: I know it's coming up to that time of year again when you tell the public about shows they should be watching and shows networks need to keep. I wanted to make sure, this year, that Supernatural is on that list. One of the smartest and funniest hours on television, it delivers wrenchingly authentic emotional drama without pandering to its audience or coming off contrived, so I think it deserves more than three million viewers a week. A lot of people haven't given it a chance because of its Thursday time slot, smack in the middle of the toughest night on TV, and the fact that the CW is still new and finding its legs. Because of a lack of advertising funds, many people simply haven't heard of it. So please draw attention to Supernatural! The crew is one of the hardest-working in television, and the two leads, with the most natural chemistry I've seen since Newman and Redford, break their backs (in the case of Jared Padalecki, his wrist!) to provide quality television. I want to ...

The Supernatural sibs catch up on the latest news.
Is the CW's Supernatural (Thursdays at 9 pm/ET) "cooking" the numbers? Are the Yellow-Eyed Demon's days numbered? Have the writers been favoring Sam over Dean? Series creator Eric Kripke answers those burning questions from TVGuide.com readers, and many others! Plus: Kripke's very important message to the show's fans.
In Season 1's "Phantom Traveler," Dean mentions that the significance of the 40-minute flight time goes back to biblical numerology. Since 7 is also a biblical number, was the fact that there were seven survivors intentional? I've always wondered about that.Eric Kripke: I love how much our fans pay attention! Yes, using the number 7 was intentional. We're always trying to drop in small but significant details, and we occasionally look to numerology. To give you another num

I was hoping wed get the answer to what John told Dean in the hospital but we didnt We got that killer cliff-hanger instead the one were going to have to live with for who knows how long Stupid hiatus My thoughts were kind of everywhere with Croatoan hence my columns pretty much going to be the same wayHow great was the previously The whole special Sam montage that led into the whole scary Dean section Very cool How great were Sam and Dean in this episode Brotherly love abounded Its always at the core even when the two are making each other angry All it takes is a scene like the one wherein a possibly infected Sammy tells Dean to leave and keep going Dean states Who says I want to Yeah I was pretty much done right there There were so many good moments between the Winchester boys Thats what I want to keep seeing as the season continues Never veer too far from that and Ill be a happy camper How about when Dean threw Sarge the keys to

Supernatural just keeps getting better and better doesnt it For me Crossroad Blues had the perfect balance of everything that the show does well Taking on the legend of blues great Robert Johnson gave us a supremely rich colorful scary rollercoaster ride that featured hellhounds going after the people who made a deal with the devil mostly for shallow superficial reasons The hour gave us twists humor blues music brotherly banter angst a Sam pep talk Dean speaking Latin and the Impala Then the show tweaked the formula once again to give us a sneak preview of whats to come in the next original episode as well as what I imagine will be waiting for us in the second part of the season Let me give kudos to Sera Gamble Shes one of the best writers on the show and has either written or co-written some of Supernaturals finest episodes including Faith Dead in the Water Nightmare Salvation and Bloodlust The Brotherly Humor Its a given were going

Linda Blair, Supernatural
Supernatural fans are in for a special post-Halloween treat when horror-movie legend Linda Blair guest-stars on this week's episode (tonight at 9 pm, on the CW). Now, just to be clear, even though she did star in The Exorcist and this show does often deal with demons, Blair is not playing an otherworldly baddie. In fact, her character is a nonbeliever detective who has a bit of a run-in with the Winchester boys. TVGuide.com invited the delightful actress to share some details about her guest gig, and also to fill us in on the cause that is so close to her heart.
TVGuide.com: Hi, how have you been doing? Linda Blair: I'm fine. But I run a dog rescue, and I just wish they were fine. Twenty years ago we di

OK so heres the thing I liked No Exit It was spooky plus I liked the fact that Sam Dean and Jo were after Americas first serial killer That scene where HH Holmes reached into the tomb to stroke Jo like you would a pet was supremely creepy Some of the lines were funny too There was a Ghostbusters reference Cheap Trick Surrender and Foreigner Cold as Ice tunes were heard And we found out a little bit more about the Winchester history There was just one thing missing and its a little glaring since what was missing has been around since the pilot Its all the brotherly banter A third and fourth party get introduced and the vibe changes Its not a bad thing I like Jo and Ellen actually But to me you need to insert as much Sam and Dean sarcastic banter as you possibly can especially if the brotherly angsting is briefly on low The episode needed more banter like thisLos Angeles California Whats in LAYoung girl has been kidnapped by

Sam gets to handle the brooding load for a while as the action centers around a guy who has a couple of things in common with Sam 1 Andys mom turns out adopted mom also burned to death in a fire when Andy was 6 months old and 2 Hes developed an ability of his own mind control Then this whole thing becomes a good-twinevil-twin story when Andys long-lost brother Ansem enters the picture complete with the same ability to control peoples thoughts This was an OK episode with some really funny moments Dean got to be there for Sammy whose visions seem to be getting more painful and more erratic Its definitely looking like the visions erupt when theyre connected to other children like Sammy However sometimes Sam can get there on time to save the day other times he cant Then it turns out the evil mind-control twin guy never lost a mother in a fire when he was 6 months old which pretty much means the Demon can probably target anyone Im left wondering why some
