Pretty Little Liars' fourth season was dubbed the "Season of Answers," and we definitely got them.
After four long seasons, some of the major questions surrounding the night of Alison's disappearance got resolved. More A suspects were crossed off the list, we learned Mrs. DiLaurentis (Andrea Parker) was the one who buried her own daughter (Sasha Pieterse) alive, Noel (Brant Daugherty) was helping Alison stay safe, and stalker Mona (Janel Parish) also knew she was alive the entire time, setting her up so she could become the Queen Bee.
Buckle up, Rosewood. Season 4 of Pretty Little Liars is going to be quite the roller coaster ride now that Janel Parrish's Mona is joining the core four Liars as A's newest prey. Can this bonkers bad girl play nice with Emily and Co.? The Hawaiian knockout gets honest with us about where her duplicitous teen is headed...or at least we think she's telling the truth.
What's in the trunk? Pretty Little Liars fans will find out almost immediately in the Season 4 premiere.
"Within 30 seconds you'll know what's in the trunk," executive producer Marlene King tells TVGuide.com. "We usually have these big reveals in finales, but this is one of the first time we've had had a premiere with lots of answers."
When the ABC Family series wrapped up its third season, viewers watched as Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Aria (Lucy Hale) and nemesis Mona (Janel Parrish) were pulled out of a burning house by a shadowy figure that a few of the girls — and the audience — recognized as the dead former Queen Bee Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). Is she really alive? And is she the omniscient Red Coat directing the "A" Team all along? Plus: What did the girls discover in the final moment of the winter finale that had them gasping? King gives us a preview of what's to come below.
Is Red Coat really Alison, the Pretty Little Liars' Queen Bee best friend thought to be dead?
"We're going into Season 4 with [the question of], is she or isn't she [alive]?" executive producer Oliver Goldstick tells TVGuide.com.
On the Season 3 finale, the battle between Mona (Janel Parrish) and foursome Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) came to a head with the reveal that not only did Mona never know the identity of her boss in the red coat, but that she, Spencer and Hanna ultimately believed her to be Alison (Sasha Pieterse). Does this mean Alison was never killed? Or does she have a twin? And can viewers believe Toby (Keegan Allen) when he claims he was only on the A Team to protect Spencer? Plus: Where the heck are Paige and Jason? Goldstick answers our (many) burning questions.
"Those b----es are finally going to get what they deserve." Or will they?
In the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 finale, Mona (Janel Parrish) is determined to take down Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) once and for all, and it appears she may have some help from the inside.
Fall TV Scorecard: What's renewed and what's canceled?
"If [Spencer] is on the A team, which it looks like she is, then that would mean that Mona is now her boss," Parrish tells TVGuide.com. "The characters have definitely swapped a little bit. Mona is the new Spencer -- she's smart and in charge and nothing seems to faze her -- while Spencer was slowly spiraling out of control and now she's broken and on the A team."
But is Spencer really on the A team? Or is she simply infiltrating the band of black hoodies to find out intel, specifically if Toby (Keegan Allen) is really dead and the identity of the mysterious Red Coat?
"Someone has been controlling Mona," Parrish says. "This woman appears to be blonde, and a lot of people are speculating it's CeCe (Vanessa Ray), but also keep in mind is that while Mona is taking orders from this person, she was also in a mental hospital! So maybe she doesn't quite know who she was speaking to."
