James Stewart Fast Facts:

Started riding a dirt bike as a 3-year-old.
In 1997, his father bought land in Florida's Haines City so he could build a track in the backyard for James.
Turned pro in 2002.
Named by Teen People in 2003 as among "20 Teens Who Will Change the World."
Referred to by some as the "Tiger Woods of supercross," as he is the first black to dominate the sport.
In a 2004 interview with the St. Petersburg Times, said: "It does feel good to be the first (black) ever, but I honestly don't sit here and think about it a lot."
Haines City, in 2007, marked "James Stewart Week" to honor the then-21-year-old motocross champion.
In 2008, became second rider ever to complete an undefeated season, winning all 24 races he entered. (Ricky Carmichael was the first.)
In 2010, had surgery on his right wrist following an injury in a crash.
