After what feels like the longest hiatus ever, Grey's Anatomy will finally return with 12 straight episodes beginning Thursday (9/8c, ABC) until the show's season finale in May.
When last we left the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial, Jackson interrupted April's wedding to Matthew to declare his love for her, much to the shock and dismay of Stephanie and pretty much everyone else in attendance. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Shane boldly and stupidly decided to be a hot shot and take the lead on an emergency surgery to fix the heart of Alex's father, which did not go well. So, what's next? TVGuide.com hit the set to get the scoop on each of the docs:
Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey
Great news, Grey's Anatomy fans: Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey have signed new two-year deals to remain with the show, TVGuide.com has learned.

Oh, Grey's Anatomy, you had me at hello... and you lost me at Bailey's OCD.
I've stuck with the show that made Shonda Rhimes a household name through Izzie's (Katherine Heigl) ghost sex, the Alex/Ava saga, "Intern Fight Club," and even that god-awful musical episode. When people ask me why I'm still watching Grey's, currently limping through its 10th season, my response has always been: "I'm going down with that ship." But Season 10 has me on the verge of jumping overboard. Here are six reasons why I'm ready to give up on Grey's:
Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey
Patrick Dempsey is riding a unicycle. It's 10 o'clock on a Wednesday morning, and the Grey's Anatomy leading man is playfully entertaining the cast and crew between scenes at a downtown Los Angeles theater complex. Long before Dempsey stepped into Derek Shepherd's sexy scrubs, he was (hidden-talent alert!) a champion juggler and avid student of the circus arts, and it's clear as he pedals around the set clad in a black tux that he's still got serious skills. "I'm tired of being an international superstar," he cracks. "I'm running away to join the circus!"

Grey's Anatomy has never been shy about killing off members of its cast — See: George, Lexie and Mark — so there was genuine fear this summer that Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), the heart of the hospital, could be the next on executive producer Shonda Rhimes' hit list.
Grey's Anatomy: Where were we and what's next?
At the close of Season 9, Webber was seemingly lifeless after being electrocuted when trying to turn on the generator during the super-storm. Picking up moments later, the Season 10 premiere saw...
Robin Williams and James Wolk
Comebacks are big news this fall — James Spader enjoyed one on Monday with the splashy premiere of NBC's The Blacklist — and nowhere is this more true than on Thursdays, with three high-profile comedy vehicles for beloved stars from sitcoms past. And while conventional wisdom has long suggested that it's easier to create new stars on TV — Sleepy Hollow's Tom Mison, anyone? — than to build new shows around old favorites, what really matters is giving them material that lives up to the billing.

Grey's Anatomy returns Thursday (9/8c, ABC) with a two-hour premiere that picks up just moments after the events of last season's finale, in which a super-storm ravaged the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Meredith and Derek will be celebrating the birth of baby Bailey, Callie and Arizona will be struggling with the latter's infidelity, and Cristina and Owen will once again be on the outs. But there's oh so much more that will be happening at the hospital, so you might need a quick refresher on where we left off — and a juicy tease about what comes next in Season 10:
Jessica Capshaw, Sara Ramirez, Tessa Ferrer
Grey's Anatomy returns for its 10th season next week, picking up right where we left off in May, and TVGuide.com has the exclusive first look at the premiere.
Does this Grey's Anatomy sneak peek reveal who dies?
In the sneak peek below, it's Webber (James Pickens, Jr.) who will offer up the narration in the two-hour premiere as he will be fighting for his life after being electrocuted by the generator in last season's finale. But he's not the only one fighting...
Things aren't looking too good for Heather (Tina Majorino) in this sneak peek of the Greys' Anatomy premiere.
After Bailey (Chandra Wilson) enlists Shane (Gaius Charles) to find Dr. Webber (James Pickens Jr.), the jealous intern lies to poor Mousey and says she's in charge of seeking out the missing surgeon.
