NBA Celebrity All-Stars Announced

Alyssa Milano by Donato Sardella/ WireImage.com

Most All-Star games are dullsville — did anyone watch last night's Pro Bowl? — but the NBA does its best to keep interesting. The annual NBA All-Star Celebrity Game is often an amusing spectacle leading up to the big game. This year's eclectic collection of singers, actors and WNBA players should keep that tradition going. Ne-Yo? Taylor Hicks? Ando from Heroes?Alyssa Milano and Gabrielle Union will coach the two teams. Access Hollywood co-anchor Tony Potts, who was MVP of last year's game, will be on the floor for Milano's squad. Here are the two teams, which will face off Friday (Feb. 15, 7 pm/ET, ESPN) at the Ernest N. In the first season of Heroes (Mondays at 9 pm/ET, NBC), Adrian Pasdar's Nathan Petrelli seemed to have it all: a loving family, a swank house, a successful Senate bid. But he sacrificed it all to save New York from nuclear apocalypse by flying off with his brother, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia), right before his bro went boom. As this season began, a scruffy Nathan seemed to have lost everything. Pasdar spoke to TVGuide.com about his c read more

The First Cut Is the Deepest

David Anders by Justin Lubin/NBC

Episode Recap: “The Line”Heroes has never made me lose interest, but it did get off to a slow start. I knew tonight would be a good episode. OK, I hoped tonight would be a great episode. It was the lead-in to November sweeps. However, I didn’t want to set my expectations too high. I’ve noticed a growing trend with network television: they build up the months of November, February and May for Nielsen ratings, and then leave us hanging. Sometimes, the episodes that air during those sweeping months live up to the abundance of promos, previews and annoying scroll lines under everything you watch. Other times, a ferry crashes and we are left with the letters WTF on our minds. That being said, let’s recap. We’ve all been through high school hell, and I’ve watched the genius of Tina Fey's Mean Girls, but do people like the cheerleading captain really exist? If so, then she got what she deserved. (When she wrote the number of pounds to lose on the girls' f... read more

Are Heroes Stars Ventimiglia and Panettiere an Item?

Milo Ventimiglia and Hayden Panettiere by Chris Haston/NBC

They may rely on each other when it comes to saving the world on TV, but the bond between Heroes' Milo Ventimiglia and Hayden Panettiere is apparently strictly platonic in real life. According to fellow cast member James Kyson Lee, there's no truth to the rumor that Milo and Hayden are dating. “It is not true,” Lee said at the Lift Up America charity event in Hollywood on Sept. 25. “It’s a rumor and I don’t know why people are jumping all over that. Milo will be the first one to tell you that they’re 12 years apart. So it’s not true.”Lee participated in Lift Up America’s “Giving Hope Tour,” where 1,400 underprivileged kids from all over Los Angeles walked down the red carpet as celebrities cheered them on, and was more than happy to share the limelight. “Today the kids are the stars,” Lee said. “We want to tell them to celebrate life and to go for everything that they believe in and dream of. We want to encourage ... read more

Will More Heroes Suffer Mr. Nakamura's Fate?

Will this be the last we see of Mr. Nakamura? George Takei by Chris Haston/NBC

Episode Recap: "Four Months Later...." (September 24, 2007)Of all the shows I follow, this was the premiere that had me fidgeting in my cubicle all day. I have never missed an episode. I nearly fell out of my chair when I received an email this past summer, saying that I would be the new Heroes blogger. This blog is important to TV Guide and Heroes fans alike. I myself used to read it every Tuesday morning before and after meeting my co-workers around the Heroes water-cooler. Needless to say, I hope I live up to all of your expectations, because this show just gets better and better!First off, the symbol. You know what I’m talking about - the RNA strand that pops up everywhere. Tonight, it was painted in red on Mrs. Petrelli and Mr. Nakamura’s (may he rest in hero peace) torn photos, drawn by Molly, fashioned around Peter’s (he lives!) neck and carved within the handle of the famous Kensei/Hiro sword. So, what exactly does it mean? One known fact: When you receive a p... read more

So who was missing from last ...

Question: So who was missing from last week's Heroes press conference?

Answer: Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah) was absent, but producers had already denied that he was leaving the show. James Kyson Lee wasn't there either, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything since he technically isn't a series regular. That leads me to believe that the exiting Hero actually attended the powwow just to throw us off the scent. And in my book, that's called playing dirty. THIS JUST IN: AA reader Brian Lewis informs me that Noah was at the press conference. It was Leonard Roberts (DL) who was MIA. In my defense, I was going off the call sheet.
