Top Moments: Castle's Big Kiss and Oprah Meets Her Long-Lost Sis

Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic

Our top moments of the week:

11. Best Excuse for Facial Hair:
White Collar mixes style and substance for its flashback episode. Fans finally learn how Neal met his love, Kate, and future partner-in-crime(-solving) Peter. But much more importantly, we get to see Tim DeKay rock a mustache! Your move, Bradley Whitford.

10. Cheapest False Alarm: Remember all those promos for that catastrophic tsunami on Hawaii Five-0? "This is one wave you don't want to ride," CBS warned us. Yeah, it never happened. It turns out the tsunami warning signal was a fake, instigated by a hacker who wanted to create an evacuation as a diversion. We haven't felt this cheated since Rob Lowe "died" for a hot second on Brothers & Sisters (the first time).

James Franco

James Franco's grandmother has a few choice words for audiences too scared to watch 127 Hours, which includes a graphic scene where her grandson's character cuts off his arm.

In a new Funny or Die video, Franco asks his grandmother — who sports a T-shirt that reads "I kept my eyes open for 127 Hours" — if she has anything to say about those who can't bear to sit through the movie. "I think they're a bunch of p------," she replies.

Terriers

As the TV calendar year begins to wind down, here's some of what got me wound up about TV this week.

FINALE WATCH: DOGGONE GOOD: And now the waiting begins, with these appropriately ambiguous final words as Hank and Britt reach a crossroads in FX's terrific Terriers season (hopefully not series) finale: "Which way will it be?" There's little doubt that Hank will deliver his partner and best bud Britt to prison to serve time for his jealousy-fueled assault on the guy-who-didn't-sleep-with-Katie. read more
