Grimm may be inspired by beloved fairy tales, but don't expect any happily-ever-afters. In fact, life is about to get very deadly for all concerned. The hit NBC crime procedural — about a Portland homicide detective, Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), with the power to spot supernatural creatures who masquerade as human beings—will get an early second-season return tonight, fresh from two weeks of heavy promotion during the Olympic Games. (The series airs on Mondays for five weeks, then returns to its previous Fridays-at-9 slot on September 14.) Prepare to get prehistoric.
It's a good thing Nick's mom has come back. The new Grimm needs all the help he can get with a slew of dangerous Wesen.
When Grimm returns Monday (10/9c, NBC) with all-new episodes, Nick is still trying to wrap his head around the fact that his mother is still alive and fighting the good Grimm fight. Meanwhile, Monroe and Rosalee are trying to figure out how to awaken Juliette from her cat-scratch-induced coma, and Capt. Renard attempts to reconnect with his estranged brother (guest star James Frain).
