Housewives' Denton: Mike and Susan Are Splitsville

Desperate Housewives by Danny Feld/ABC

Gale Harold is a force to be reckoned with. James Denton confirmed as much, telling People.com that, as strongly suggested in Desperate Housewives' end-of-season, five-year flash-forward, "Mike and Susan have definitely split up."But as reported in the June 24 Mitovich Mega Minute, that does not mean Denton is necessarily done with the ABC serial. "I’m not sure exactly in what capacity — [series creator] Marc Cherry is being a little cagey — but I will certainly be on the show," he shares. "It's a relief... trust me." — Matt MitovichRelated:• Mega Minute: Housewives Recast Report and More read more

At Fundraiser, Housewives Creator Dishes on Finale

Marcia Cross and Dana Delany by Dale Wilcox/ WireImage.com

What it would take for Desperate Housewives Bree and Katherine to lovingly embrace remains a mystery, but when it comes to actresses Marcia Cross and Dana Delany, all they needed for a big hug was some great comedy, delicious food and a good cause. "She's such a great friend," Delany told TV Guide at the Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine event in Beverly Hills that raised funds for the Scleroderma Research Foundation. Delany, who has been a board member for the foundation for almost ten years, didn't just get her castmates Cross and James Denton to attend the event, she also helped set up two set visits to Desperate Housewives along with scripts, lunches and makeovers, that sold for $18,000 each. And for those of us with slimmer wallets, creator Marc Cherry offered some exclusive scoop about the finale. "We're going to find out the truth about what happened in Katherine's house 12 years ago and what the deal is with her daughter and it's going to be a shocking conclusion that all the women wi... read more

Housewives Nudity?! Food for Thought at Eva's Restaurant Opening

Eva Longoria by John Shearer/ WireImage.com

When Mark Cherry told TV Guide that Eva Longoria Parker knows how to throw a party, he wasn't kidding. The Desperate Housewives creator was just one of dozens of friends who came out to support Longoria Parker for the opening of her new restaurant, Beso, in Hollywood Thursday night. There for the food (created by Longoria Parker and chef Todd English) and festivities, presented by Hornitos Tequila, were Felicity Huffman and husband William H. Macy, Kim Kardashian, Lake Bell, Roselyn Sanchez with fiancé Eric Winter, Constance Marie, George Lopez, Dana Delany, Mario Lopez with girlfriend Karina Smirnoff, James Denton, Julie Benz, and Sheryl Crow. Missing was husband Tony Parker, who was away for a game. The Mexican-fusion restaurant is a passion project for Longoria Parker, who has a reputation for being a fierce cook and foodie. What makes her a good restaurateur? "She's a pig. She loves to eat!" said Huffman. "She can sew, too. We have to find something that girl can't do. It's s... read more

Heroes Cop Fends off Real Fuzz at Party

Greg Grunberg by Steve Jennings/ WireImage.com

A veritable who's who of television — including Josh Cooke, Kathrine Narducci, Kym Whitley, Kurt Fuller and Emmanuelle Vaugier — on Saturday night attended the wrap party for the upcoming indie film Group Sex, in the hills of Beverly Hills. Executive producer John Viola's new home was transformed into a casino with blackjack, poker, roulette and craps games at play. Although cast member Tom Arnold did not make an appearance, the police did after neighbors complained about the noise. Coming to the rescue was Heroes star (and co-writer of Group Sex) Greg Grunberg, who apologized to the lawmen for the volume from a performance by he and several members of Band From TV, including lead guitarist James Denton (Desperate Housewives), who also has a role in the film.As for riveting the world with his comedy about sexaholics, Grunberg’s ideas about that might catch the attention of the authorities as well. The actor told TV Guide, "If Will Ferrell can run down the street nake... read more

"You Can't Judge a Book By Its Cover"

Dylan and Katherine briefly explored family genealogy. Lyndsy Fonseca and Dana Delany by Ron Tom/ABC

For those of us (I include myself) who often bemoan the ditzy, clutzy storylines consistently given to Susan (Teri Hatcher), tonight's episode was certainly a departure. Last week we saw a single brief glimpse of Mike taking some medication, on the sly. Tonight Bree discovered, and alerted Susan, that Mike was taking a "highly addictive narcotic." Feel free to disagree (seems Hatcher's acting ability is a divisive issue), but I really do think she can act, and the writers' constant use of her character as bimbo comic relief was/is a shame. In fact, I think she can play dark, dramatic and sinister better than Mike (James Denton). But it's Mike who has the drug problem, whether it's an addiction to painkillers or something worse. Susan assured him that he shouldn't feel pressure to overwork and provide an upscale suburban lifestyle for their child, but should focus on being a healthy father. And though she believed him when he shoved the pills down the drain, the episode's last moment... read more

At the 2007 Emmys: Part 1

(Not-so-) fresh off the plane, me with the famous "Hollywood" sign in the distance.

Friday, Sept. 14, 8:21 am/ETAs you may have surmised by Ben Katner's byline on Friday's Today's News blog, I am en route to the Emmys in the Los Angeles of the California. Seat 23F, two nice nonsmelly ladies sitting next to me, waiting for the plane to pull away from the gate. Window seat. No dents in the wing — always a good sign in my book. The flight attendant is giving that spiel about, "If you are not headed to Los Angeles...," where I always expect (but never get) some poor sap rising and exclaiming, "Holy crap! Wait!"Ausiello is also in the air, but on a different plane. Flew out of LaGuardia (versus Newark), Mr. City Mouse did. Hey, fewer people climbing over me to get his autograph, right? If you haven't checked it out yet, you should really swing by TVGuide.com's Emmy Watch site. A lot of hard work by a lot of fantastic people went into it. Right now, you can check out (the original Matt) Matt Roush's predictions as well as see who the TVGuide.com readers think will w... read more

Teri Hatcher and James Denton Talk Desperate Housewives Scoop

James Denton and Teri Hatcher by Ron Tom/ABC

The Wisteria Lane Welcome Wagon has moved way beyond a greeting and a coffee cake. In fact, for Desperate Housewife Teri Hatcher, her first scene with new cast member Nathan Fillion proved to be an unusually warm introduction."Often you'll hear actors say that there's the oddity of meeting someone and the next thing you know you're doing a kissing scene. Ours was, 'Hi, nice to meet you. My feet are going to be up in stirrups and you need to stick your head [between my legs]. Welcome to Desperate Housewives,' Hatcher told TV Guide at the ABC All-Star Party July 26 in Beverly Hills.Fillion, who joins the cast as a dashing young gynecologist, will be moving into Mike’s house with Dana Delany, who plays his wife, and according to James Denton, there is something dark and twisty about the new neighbors. “Something really dark happened in that house and that’s why they have to move back. We don’t know what it is, but I can’t wait to find out.”For Denton, the ... read more
