Frasier and Niles will stop at nothing to get tickets to the hottest play in town. The Crane brothers can barely contain their excitement about attending the theatrical event of the season: 'Tears of the Mariner,' starring Sir Trevor Ainsely. Yet their joy turns to despair when the usher at the theater points out that their tickets to the sold-out show were for that day's matinee. Since Niles and Frasier wouldn't be caught dead standing in the cancellation line, Frasier assures Niles he'll be able to get seats for the next night's show. Unable to rustle up tickets, Frasier and Niles are forced to wait in the dreaded cancellation line, where they're spotted by society couple Steve and Susan Kendall. Frasier claims they're just hanging out while Niles has one last cigarette before the play starts. Once the Kendalls go inside, Frasier says he and Niles have to cover their story - and save their social standing - by sticking around until intermission. At intermission, Susan invites Frasier and Niles to a private supper for Sir Trevor. They're ecstatic - until the legendary actor asks for their psychological interpretation of the play. Although Frasier manages to fake his way through the conversation, he realizes that his elitist attitude about the cancellation line ruined his chance to see a great play. Disdaining the social snobbery that put them in the situation, Niles and Frasier leave the supper - but can't resist an invitation to the Kendalls' upcoming brunch with a senator. watch
