Allan (Cole Hauser), a disgruntled employee overlooked for a promotion and made a cuckold by his adulterous wife, confides his problems to Jonas (Cuba Gooding Jr.), a mysterious stranger he befriends in a bar, and in a drunken moment agrees to give him a hit list of five people he's infuriated with and would like to see dead. The situation turns deadly serious when each person on the hit list is murdered one-by-one, with Allan being the prime suspect for their murders.

The next day, the people he named start turning up dead, and all the evidence points to Allan.
