Both witty and gory, this unusual tale finds vampire Boya (Gordon Currie) awakening from a 25-year nap in Toronto. Boya, who savages vermin rather than humans, befriends lovelorn cabdriver Earl (Justin Louis) and helps him fend off a sinister crime lord (David Cronenberg). Complicating Boya's good intentions is Rita (Fiona Reid), his ex-girlfriend who's furious at him for not making her a vampire and giving her immortality.

The cadets take to the streets when three inept goons successfully orchestrate a metropolitan crime wave.
