We'd like to thank the bands and talent for their participation in this years EuroRock Peace Full Sail grand finale gig for world peace in Melbourne Florida at the Metro that wrapped up our EuroRock2008 world tour for peace. Our Program Our program for peace is simple. We put together people from all over the world to show people we can all get along, despite our differences of music, country, color, religion, looks or whatever...Countries this year were Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, UK, Canada, USA. Putting many different people together, especially on a boat, is extremely challenging since many things can go wrong. And they have, but we were able to work things out, or change to accommodate the differences, and in the end, it becomes more beneficial for everyone to make some concessions which eventually takes our lives to a higher level. Grammy Awards Two of our songs have been entered into the Grammy's this year: Swiss on Peace by Swiss Chris, who, himself has been responsible for Grammy winning music while working as Music Director and Drummer for John Legend. And Kreigergottes 'Refugee', a song about the refugees we witnessed being apprehended by the law, some near death, some already passed. The video is part of our collection here on CURRENT. Also, the raw footage of what we witnessed as well as the police hasleing us and confiscating our cameras, one of which they missed, otherwise we wouldn't have it to show! Kreigergottes is headed by Detlef Kowelewski, a former band member that opened most of the Iron Maiden concerts in Europe and he, himself has had several European hits. Detlef, besides being the Peace Full Sail 'Skipper', is one of the most sought after tattoo artists in Europe and an excellent producer of Rock and Roll with some cool credits. The musicians sailing the world for peace have come up with a new video, 'Ball and Chain' about what they have been perceiving from their mission with EuroRock World Peace Tour. And, if you are in Melbourne Florida this weekend, EuroRock is featuring them as well as hosting Pangea Day this May 10th at 2pm till 6. EuroRock is an official Friends of Pangea and will be showing the 4 hour special, live from all over the world in our movie theatre there at the Metro. Many musicians from all over the world will be on hand there for the evening after the Pangea Day showing. Come a day early and a day after for some special treats! SHINEDOWN is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2001 and founded by members Brent Smith, Brad Stewart, Jasin Todd, and Barry Kerch. The group has released three albums on Atlantic Records. They have issued popular singles such as '45', 'Save Me', 'Devour', 'Sound of Madness', and 'Second Chance'. All of their eleven singles to date have climbed into the Top 5 of the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, making them the first to accomplish the feat. Shinedown's musical influences are Otis Redding, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Stone Temple Pilots, and Foo Fighters. In May 2004, Brad Stewart shed significant light on the formation of the band during an interview with Metal-Rules.com: The band started with Brent Smith, our lead singer. He had a development deal with a different band on Atlantic and the label decided to move forward with Brent and not with the rest of his band. They allowed him to write with other people, develop his songwriting craft, and find the musicians that he wanted to work with. This led him to Jacksonville where he met Brad, the bass player, through a mutual friend of Brent s A&R guy, local Jacksonville producer Pete Thornton. The two hit it off and guitarist Jasin Todd would join the band next.Jasin was in another band and wanted to concentrate on his guitar playing and didn t want to sing and play any more in his other band. Jasin s fianc owned the studio where Brad and Brent were making the demos and Jasin got the chance to play with us. We just fit together. His attitude, style, and personality were exactly what we were looking for. Barry was our lucky #7 drummer. The 7th drummer we tried out. He blew us away.
