'Giving Up the Ghost'

Everyone imploring last week for more of Judith Light has one more thing to be thankful for today! Perhaps the best part of the episode was thanks to her presence at Bradford's funeral. When Wilhelmina appeared (with Marc close behind, stirring up PR), Claire Meade — despite her shackles — swiftly tripped her, causing her to fly six feet deep into the fresh empty grave. Then she promptly held a board members meeting (with Daniel and Alexis) calling a "motion to terminate" Wilhelmina as the creative director of Mode immediately. "Rest in peace, bitch." Bernie Mac Is Back, and Other New Shows

Bernie Mac by Carin Baer/Fox

• Following a fierce bidding war, Starting Under — a comedy from Drew Carey Show creator Bruce Helford and starring Bernie Mac as an opinionated divorcé who lives with (and works for!) his introverted twentysomething son — became the last major pilot to get rubber-stamped, by Fox, before the strike struck, Variety reports. But... what about "Ocean's Eighteen"?!• A&E has shot a pilot for Celebrity called Garage Sale (yes, it's come to this), in which indie actress Illeana Douglas helps her celeb pals unload unwanted junk.• Freaks and Geeks cocreator Paul Feig will direct the pilot for NBC's Kath & Kim, starring Molly Shannon. read more

And ABC's Women of a Certain Age has added Peri Gilpin to Heather Locklear and Illeana Douglas' circle of friends. Now that I think about it, that headline may have been misleading. And now that I think about it, I like the idea that I may have misled you a wee bit. Heh heh.
