The Vampire Diaries has added one more vampire.
Elena met her fate in the Season 3 finale after her fateful trip over Wickery Bridge left her on a slab in the morgue. But don't worry: She will be back next season, along with her portrayer, Nina Dobrev, who joined the rest of the cast and executive producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson at their Comic-Con panel, moderated by TV Guide Magazine's Debra Birnbaum, on Saturday dish about the upcoming season. (Turns out, Elena was supposed to become a vampire in Season 2, so this has been a long time coming!)
The Backstreet Boys said it best: "If you want it to be good girl, get yourself a bad boy." Need proof? Just look at the untrustworthy, yet irresistible leads who have taken over your TV. From White Collar's Neal Caffrey to The Vampire Diaries' Damon Salvatore, bad boys seem like they're here to stay — and we aren't complaining! But what is it about a bad boy that's so appealing?
When The Vampire Diaries returns for Season 4, the friendship between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) that fans have been clamoring for will finally be further explored.
"I always look at Caroline as Stefan's future [best friend] Lexi [Arielle Kebbel]," executive producer Julie Plec said during this weekend's ATX Television Festival panel, moderated by this reporter. "You've seen little pockets of a friendship spark between them, and I see Caroline in the long run of the series becoming that important in Stefan's life."
Another TV season is in the books, and there are no shortage of burning questions left behind.
On the season finale of The Vampire Diaries, Elena (Nina Dobrev) finally chooses between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley).
While that development is too juicy to spoil, in this week's finale edition of Vampire Diaries Bite we do reveal who Elena will be locking lips with. (Keep in mind: That lucky guy may not be Elena's ultimate choice). Plus: Which brother do TVGuide.com users overwhelmingly want Elena to pick?

After three seasons, The Vampire Diaries' vampire hunter has become the creature he once so greatly loathed.
On Thursday's episode, "Do Not Go Gentle," Esther (Alice Evans) carried out her plan to have Alaric (Matt Davis) morph into the most powerful creature she could create and one that she hopes could help take down the entire breed of vamps.

Why are Damon and Rebekah on the same side of danger in The Vampire Diaries season finale?
The last time viewers saw these two, a scorned Rebekah (Claire Holt) was torturing Damon (Ian Somerhalder) for using her (i.e. sleeping with her) so that Sage (Cassidy Freeman) could read her thoughts. But it seems in our exclusive look at the season's final episode, "The Departed," that the two are together, both shocked and terrified, of something -- or someone -- greater than them.
Vampire Diaries Video: Joseph Morgan critiques fan art, shares the secret to becoming Klaus
Could it be Esther (Alice Evans) attempting to carry out her plan to kill off her family? Has Klaus (Joseph Morgan) gone over the edge and threatening his own sister? Or is it split-personality Alaric (Matt Davis) in his dangerous psycho killer mode who is after them?
Vampire Diaries Bite: Will Joseph Morgan be back next season?
Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder
The Vampire Diaries begins its final four episodes on Thursday (8/7c, CW), which means viewers are that much closer to finding out which Salvatore brother Elena Gilbert will choose.
Vampire Diaries' Somerhalder calls finale ridiculously emotional, says the brothers will bond
At the start of the series, Elena (Nina Dobrev) was immediately drawn to Stefan (Paul Wesley), but the pair's relationship faced a devastating blow when Stefan embarked on a dark and bloody journey with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) at the helm. With Stefan gone, Elena's playful love-hate relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) blossomed until the chemistry between them was undeniable.

Of all the Vampire Diaries twosomes, none is stronger — or more complicated — than Damon and Stefan. And although they've spent decades in opposition, the pair start to overcome their issues in the upcoming spring episodes.
"What's interesting about what's happening right now is the dynamic between the brothers. They are starting to really bond," Ian Somerhalder tells TVGuide.com. "A tease about the episode coming up is really about these brothers overcoming their disdain for each other and...
Ian Somerhalder is rolling up his sleeves to clean the state of California with his upcoming campaign called Let's Get Dirty.
On April 21, the Vampire Diaries star, along with his ISF Foundation and more than 2,000 schools, will rally others to join in cleaning their local communities.
"If you were to pick up all the trash in one day by mobilizing hundreds of thousands of people to clean everything up, then we're basically going to do in one day what the government would do in three years and spend millions of dollars of tax payers' money doing," Somerhalder tells TVGuide.com.
