Vampire Diaries, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder
Just because Stefan is returning from the dark side on The Vampire Diaries, that doesn't mean Damon is out of the running for Elena's heart.
After Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finally locked lips — for keeps, this time — with Elena (Nina Dobrev), he begrudgingly stepped aside once his brother Stefan (Paul Wesley) began to show emotion again. Despite Damon's insistence that he's better off as the bad guy, executive producer Julie Plec tells TVGuide.com that he has not given up.
On Saturday's red carpet before for the show's PaleyFest event, which was moderated by TV Guide Magazine's Debra Birnbaum, Plec dished on all things Damon-Elena-Stefan, Alaric's future and the Originals' next challenge. Plus: Find out why the upcoming season finale made her cry...

When The Vampire Diaries flashed back to the early 1900s to explore Stefan's ripper origins, Damon was very much absent from his brother's life. When the CW series travels to that era again, viewers will see exactly how the rift between the Salvatore boys was created.
When The Vampire Diaries' Elijah was introduced in Season 2, he wasn't supposed to stick around long. More than a year after his arrival the character remains one of the most popular in the show's history.
"In the beginning I was a very old vampire who was going to live like two episodes," Daniel Gillies explains to TVGuide.com. "They didn't know I was going to be a brother, I [just] was a henchman." But Elijah has transformed from being terrifyingly powerful in his knowledge and skills, to a still powerful vampire, but one with a distinct moral compass and compassion for Elena who Gillies calls a warrior.

Proving that you can't keep a good bad girl down, Smallville alum Cassidy Freeman returns to The CW to bedevil another crazy-hot cast. "I guess they're trying to tell me something," says the former Tess Mercer with a laugh. "When I was cast on Smallville, I was like, 'Really? Evil angry girl?' Because I can't stop laughing in real life."
Say goodbye to The Vampire Diaries' love-struck Damon Salvatore.
Throughout two-and-a-half seasons of The CW series, viewers have seen Damon (Ian Somerhalder) go from the cocky bad boy who will kill anyone anywhere to a more vulnerable vampire who finally shared his deep-rooted romantic feelings for Elena (Nina Dobrev). But Somerhalder says Damon is over showing that side of him and ready to return to his old ways.
Ian Somerhalder told me at the People's Choice Awards that he'd just shot a Vampire Diaries scene where Damon "wakes up naked with another woman who is a hot vampire." Might this be Katherine? Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine) hints, "I can't say whether or not I'm in that scene, but it is a character fans are familiar with and Elena will definitely have an opinion on it."

When The Vampire Diaries returns on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 8/7c on The CW, Elena may finally be ready to say goodbye to Stefan and welcome in Damon's love.
"[Elena and Damon] are trying very hard to understand that the Stefan that they know is gone forever and that he betrayed them," executive producer Julie Plec tells TVGuide.com. "Elena understands ... that ultimately it's time for her to move on with her life and not hold onto a ghost of her past."

Harry Potter may be over, but the gang at Hogwarts is not going down without a fight.
The eighth and final installment of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, has been nominated for nine People's Choice Awards, including favorite movie, favorite movie actor and favorite ensemble movie cast.
With no Twilight film eligible for nomination, due to cut off dates, the boy wizard will take on...
Corpses turn up on a weekly basis in Mystic Falls. But you may be surprised to hear that most of the cast of The CW's Vampire Diaries have survived their own encounters with the Grim Reaper. In honor of Halloween, they tell their tales.
Joseph Morgan (Klaus):
"I was in Buenos Aires driving in a car with tinted windows and ended up with a loaded gun in my face. I just...

Sure, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is growing closer to Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Caroline (Candice Accola) is cozying up to Tyler (Michael Trevino), and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is bonding with Bonnie (Kat Graham), but the couple we're really digging is sexy vampire BFFs Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan). And just wait till you see the bloody damage they do on this week's episode. But first, the actors talk about relationships, redemption, being British and playing bad.
