Howard Stern must be thrilled that CBS is looking to re-up Late Show host David Letterman's contract through 2012.
The Sirius Radio shock jock stopped by The Late Show Monday, and during his time in the chair, he praised Letterman while taking shots at Dave's new late-night rival and the prime time-bound Jay Leno.
"We've got to beat this Conan," Stern said. "How are you feeling that Jay left late-night television, and now we've got a new guy to compete with?"

Shock jock Howard Stern did not startle anyone with his behavior on Friday when he finally made model/TV host Beth Ostrosky his wife.
As reported by the AP, the longtime sweethearts exchanged vows at Manhattan's Le Cirque restaurant, in a ceremony officiated by actor Mark Consuelos, who in addition to being Kelly Ripa's husband apparently is also an ordained minister.
Among the 180 wedding guests were Barbara Walters, Billy Joel, The Sopranos' Steve Schirripa, Chevy Chase and Donald and Melania Trump.
Stern and Ostrosky have been engaged since February 2007. Stern has been married once before, to Alison Berns, with whom he has three daughters

Legendary shock jock Howard Stern isn't going anywhere at least not for a couple more years. Stern and iN DEMAND Networks have agreed to continue Howard TV on-demand service, which provides subscribers' video-on-demand access to Stern's uncensored radio show and other original programs, through the end of 2010. That date also marks the end of his contract with Sirius Satellite Radio.As part of the extension, Howard TV is adding seven new exclusive uncensored shows featuring Stern's outrageous crew doing even more outrageous stunts. The new shows include Wack Pack Bowling featuring Beetlejuice, Jeff the Drunk and other recurring characters in a wild bowling tournament and Beat the Booey, a game show that allows fans to test their knowledge of the Howard Stern Show against producer Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate for $5,000.Howard TV is available on most major cable providers. Somewhere in the world pigs are flying. Rosie O'Donnell has agreed to audition to do a show on Howard Stern's Sirius radio channel.The former View cohost expressed interest in the radio gig this morning during an hour-long interview on Stern's radio show. Afterward, when asked by a fan on her blog if the news of a possible radio show was true, O'Donnell replied, "it would b fun."The two have had a frosty relationship make that a frozen relationship ever since a Howard follower phoned in and pranked Rosie on her talk show several years ago (and called her "a fat pig").Last year, the mending of fences began when the two chatted after spotting each other in a restaurant.
