Harvey Weinstein Fast Facts:

Started a concert-promotion company, Harvey & Corky Productions, with his friend Corky Burger in the 1960s.
Started Miramax with his younger brother in 1979 with money they made from a film they acquired at the Cannes Film Festival. The company was named for their parents, Miriam and Max.
Made his acting debut in 1997's An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn.
Was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2000 from University at Buffalo.
Was made a Fellow of the British Film Institute.
Founded the Weinstein Company with brother Bob in 2005 after Disney bought out the brothers and retained the Miramax name.
