NEW ORLEANS - Harry 'Mike' Ainsworth, the Algiers Good Samaritan who died during an effort to save a neighbor from an attempted carjacking, was laid to rest Friday at St. Louis Cathedral.
Friends, family and public officials, including Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Councilpersons Jackie Clarkson and Kristin Palmer and Director of Criminal Justice James Carter were in attendance.
The attacker shot and killed Ainsworth as he jumped onto the hood of the vehicle, police said.
Police are still searching for suspects
