Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) trail a pair of paroled convicts who have shot a fellow officer in "The Shooting". While Officer Dave Roberts (Don Marshall) recovers physically from the shotgun blast, which felled him during a routine check on the suspects parked near a liquor store, he suffers complete blackout as a result of the incident and is unable to make identification. Others in the cast include Alfred Shelly as Sgt. Al Vietti, Art Ballinger as Captain Brown and Hal Baylor and Dick Miller as the shooting suspects.
