Kenny Loggins Brings Archer Into the "Danger Zone"

Kenny Loggins, Sterling Archer

Rev up your engines! Archer is heading into the Danger Zone on Monday's episode.

When the gang decides to throw Lana (Aisha Tyler) a baby shower, Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) decides that he's going to get her the best gift imaginable: a private performance by Kenny Loggins, who makes a cameo in the episode — in cartoon form, of course.

"I'm a total badass in this episode and it's fun," Loggins told reporters on a conference call last week. "Archer's been referring to 'Danger Zone' for a quite a while ... So I think they just finally went, 'Well, we've gone so far with this joke, we have to take it all the way.'"

Archer: Is the Season 5 Reboot Working?

Archer

Blow it up and start again. That was the philosophy (literally, not figuratively) going into Season 5 of FX's Archer, which has been dubbed Archer: Vice. The rebooted version of the show finds the agents of the now-defunct ISIS becoming drug dealers in order to get rid of the ton of cocaine they've amassed through their spy work over the years. But of course, the transition hasn't been all smooth sailing. Over the course of the first four episodes, they've found themselves entangled with... read more

Archer: 5 Teases from the Season 5 Premiere

Archer

Archer returns to FX on Monday, and the show is undergoing a major reboot in its fifth season, which has been dubbed "Archer Vice." The ISIS team members are forced to explore new career options — which eventually lands them on the wrong side of the law.

"I think [creator] Adam Reed probably got very drunk one night while he was writing on his computer," star H. Jon Benjamin told reporters on a conference call this week of the revamp. "When he told me in detail what was going to happen, I was thrilled. I loved the idea. But in fairness, I couldn't reject it. I couldn't say, 'Don't do that.' I don't have that kind of power."

Bob's Burgers Exclusive Video: Gary Cole Fouls Up Linda's Valentine's Day Speed Dating!

Bob's Burgers

Sunday's Bob's Burgers is dedicated to the romantically challenged.

On the Valentine's Day-themed episode (8:30/7:30c, Fox), Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) makes Linda (John Roberts) a heart-shaped pancake for breakfast, a gesture that the Belcher children deem lame at best.

The Thursday Playlist: The Last Resort, Big Gets for Katie, Kimmel, Archer's Bromance

Last Resort

Under the familiar heading of "shows gone too soon," ABC's robust, though at times berserk, military thriller Last Resort is the only failed freshman series from this season's underwhelming fall crop that I would argue deserved more of a chance — or at least a tryout in a more appropriate time period — to catch on as it figured out its sprawling narrative. With the great Andre Braugher and the appealing Scott Speedman leading a strong and (on the island at least) exotic cast, this action drama about a rogue nuclear sub standing up against a homeland gone haywire is unlike anything else on network TV. Which made it a risk, though one well worth taking, and at least ABC let the producers complete the initial 13-episode order, which now comes to a too-early, but let's hope satisfying, end (Thursday, 8/7c).

The Thursday Playlist: Suits, FX Goes Legit, a Nerds War and Oprah Rides Lance

Patrick J. Adams

Winning the battle was only half the story — or, in this case, the season. USA Network's Suits returns Thursday (10/9c) to finish out a second year, its momentum from the crackling first half of the season somewhat stalled by the four-month break. Nothing in the first two new episodes quite matches the tension of the summer run, which was dominated by a suspenseful in-house battle for control of the Pearson Hardman (now minus Hardman) law firm.
